Really looking forward to it.
Thanks for the tip. The first one had some very funny moments.
Is there an earlier film by these guys too?
also the NY Times fake was an awesome effort on their part.
"do you think you're funny suggesting corporations would do the moral and correct thing for the good of the planet? you're sick."
the media said there was anger at their fakes, but implicit in it was that it was ridiculous that corporations would ever say these things. then they called them sick for doing it.
for the sake of a couple of pranks. While there was arguably some tangible merit to what they did, and while they found 3 of the affected thousands who supported it, you must at least be able to sympathise with that point of view.
those scenes with the talking heads saying their pranks were worth it were a copout. if they'd left what they did as kinda ambiguous i coulda got behind it a lot more but with that it came off pretty self-congratulatory.
the indian guy who later said it was worth it? i wasn't really paying attention.
then said he cried when he heard the news. seemed a little too polite to tell him to his face it was disappointing, and the Yes Man looked a little sheepish.
and they would have offended and hurt people, but it wasn't a flippant point or just a giggle at getting on the televison. part of the satire i thought was how the media said it was sick to falsely say Dow had accepted the blame, but not that they still hadn't in reality. darkly funny yeah, but still effective.
