I love the extension plug outlet.
WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF IT?
It's so fucking simple. Now some OTHER bastards gonna make a ton of cash. What a wanker.
"haha, you just got that off twitter".
seems pretty silly to me....some kid's gonna get millions for making plugs slightly smaller....they'll still have the prongs to rape stuff in your bag so what's the point
Like it would be an issue anyway. Did Bamnan just take over your account, Michael?
Also, this is very useful for portable devices.
and he said the whole reason for doing it was because....'the big plugs rip up paper and stuff in your bag'....which i thought was pretty gay.
fair enough for the bulk, but he was going on about them shredding shit.
'His irritation was compounded when the plug scratched his prized machine while he was travelling. On his YouTube video Choi said: "When people carry laptops with the UK plugs in a bag, it always causes problems such as tearing paper or scratching laptop surfaces and sometimes it will break other stuff.'
The pins are all in a line and it can slip into a nice area. With the old design you have three pins in a triangle position which will allow you to get torque forces involved.
But like I say, if this new design DID have a similar issue, a plastic cap over the prongs would be an easy remedy, whereas with the standard plug you'd need a huge cap that would take up even more space.
great idea. well done to the guy.
You can get the folding plugs now where the prongs fold down into the body of the plug but this is definitely swisher thanks to that multi-plug adapter idea.
Your second sentence reads like the words of a babbling child electrician.
I'm talking about this slimplug:
Dont you want to be patriotic in Britain anymore? Here in Canada the anthem is sung by school children every morning, the anthem is played before every hockey/baseball/football game and before many other occasions too we are proud of it and we all know the words. Do any school children in the UK even know the anthem?
the page that is, sorry.
Why didn't I think of that!?!?!
until I got to the triple plug. then I got design wood.
i think the only reason people really like the plug itself is because it looks like apple have made it
but i hate all apple things
what narks me about the guardian article about this is that it goes on to describe a social housing project.
"Elemental has created a new model of social housing: it provides a family with half a house – the half they can't build themselves, such as the structure – and leaves room for them to add the rest either when they need it or can afford it. What Aravena offers the urban poor is a platform that they can adapt to their needs. In other words, it is the iPhone of architecture. And rather than regimenting the city, like modernist social housing did, it promotes an organic diversity."
"the iPhone of architecture"??????????????????????????
What utter fscking BALLS. In what tiny way is it like the fscking iPhone? HOW? If anything, it's like the Linux of architecture. You get the essentials at the lowest price possible and then you can do what you like with it.
FETISHISATION OF APPLES STUFF WINDS ME UP SO MUCH IT'S GOTTEN TO THE POINT OF ME WORRYING ABOUT MY BLOOD PRESSURE EVERY TIME I READ ANY NEWSPAPER ARTICLE VAGUELY ABOUT DESIGN OR TECH.
And there's a cheeky little USB adaptor version which could be good.
but I'm going to labour night and day until I come up with an energy source to replace electricity so that his stupid plug won't work.
A. Clearly you've never had one of my cups of tea.
Unless you poured it upwards?
steaming bowl of chips
so I was thinking like .... lasers or something?
I'll work on the design and zxcvbnm can start digging into the ground until he uncovers our new power source. It's bound to be down there somewhere.
although I suspect that once science gets near this in anyway, we'll all come unstuck.
but we have to consider the most important factor - will they scratch a laptop in a bag?
I'm not clear on your motives.
is that it's very easy for pretty much anyone to wire one and to change the fuse. This looks like it would screw with that.
I'm starting the backlash.
Only occasionally on things like lamps, so I don't think it would be a problem. Reckon the plug would only be used for travel things like laptop and mobile phone chargers, so can't see this being an issue.
Many plugs are sealed, aren't they? And the fuse is that red slidey bit.
Backlash: muted for now.
I'll have to find another innovation to needlessly shoot down. Maybe a new vaccine.
Someone find it for me please.
it's old news, for sure.
I remember seeing it around then, and I imagine it must've been your thread.
It hurts. A lot.
