Would you recommend some? I'm out of practise. Or is that practice?
Done that one. Might rerecord it though.
i dunno. all the bbc ones?
On the slate: Ski Sunday, MotD, Rugby special theme, the snooker music, the end of The Chain by Fleetwood Mac and that dance tune they play during the darts.
Mike Watt + jazz chordal bass = brilliance
I have about five Minutemen albums and I will never understand what people are talking about when they refer to Mike Watt's 'jazz' bass. What does it mean?
that wasn't the one i was thinking of nvm
Ah, they have a new album... oh wait, that's just an old EP. Got me going for a minute there.
I'm being serious.
erm, re: the question - most of the choices i can think of just have the same catchy bassline all the way through (e.g. gigantic by the Pixies). the guy from Muse does some pretty interesting basslines, which if you like Muse might be a good suggestion.
You're right, he does. But I learnt them all in 2002. I've probably forgotten them in that time, though. Newborn and Futurism are worth relearning though - very good workout, both of them.
but yeah, not sure what there is off the new album that's worth learning.
well i like it lots anyway
if I was joking I'd have suggested something by jj72.
Lots of New Order and Joy Division ones
Barbarism Begins at Home by The Smiths is the one I love playing whenever I pick up a bass
It's for you by The Wedding Present
but 'Dirty Linen' - Fairport Convention is pretty good fun, I also think 'Hit me With Your Rhythm Stick' is a classic fun bassline. Probable loss of any credibility there!...Obviously ANYTHING by Death From Above as well!
some see you next tuesday?
Off The Wall.
Then treat yourself to some Talking Heads as a warm down.
Absolutely funking difficult to learn. I can't do it. I can't even play my own band's bass lines though tbhf.
Here's a guy doing it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMhAneQGbrM
anything by Fugazi is bass-tastic.
think its on spotify
