Man United attempt to emulate Arsenal and fall just short with a 4-0 hammering of a pretty poor Milan side. A shame as I’ve always really liked Milan but they are in major need of a complete clear out and overhaul. Nice reception for Beckham who did well enough for Clive to jizz a few times. Chelsea, it’s all yours next week.
Real miss chance after chance after chance to bury Lyon in the first half and pay the price as the French side pick up a late-ish equaliser on the night to knock the Spaniards out, much to the amusement of pretty much everyone. Doesn’t Ronaldo run in a funny way?
David Nugent scores for Burnley as they draw 1-1 at home to Stoke. Brian Laws sees it as a turning point in the Clarets’ season. Meanwhile, in the Championship, Robbie Savage ends up in goal as Reading beat Derby 4-1 after Steven Bywater limps off and his replacement Saul Deeney is sent off.
Europa League tonight with Liverpool and Fulham in action. The reds take on Lille and Fulham take on Juventus in what promises to be a decent watch.
Fabio eyes the World Cup Semi Finals.
Pompey axe 85 jobs, or at least their administrators do. None of them players.
As was widely reported yesterday, it’s RIP Chester City and Farsley Celtic. Once again the relegation issues in Non League Football will only be half decided by on field events.
Both Cardiff and Southend are given extensions with regards to their tax debts.
Shaun Teale, one of the defenders in my favourite ever Aston Villa side, has thrown his hat into the ring for the Hereford job.
Anything else lads?
