i grew up having them every few months and it would be a big deal / special occasion because its the best food in the world. we used to try eat as many as possible and it was pretty much impossible to have more than 10.
when i was over in ukraine last year you could get a 3 course meal at a fast food / buffet place for about a fiver, with borshch/peirogi/these amazing savoury cheese things/ETC. so good. apart from the bread rolls had meat in the middle. unpleasant surprise :(
