chip shop or mcdonalds?
personally it has to be chip shop, unless it's a *really* rubbish chip shop.
and haven't got the appetite for a PROPER takeaway.
you know where you are with them, sweaty little packets of saltjoy. With a chip shop you don't know if you're getting the choice crispy ones or the cold wet ones. Even good chippies have bad days, whilst McDonalds are a well oiled machine. Literally
"You know what to expect from a Wetherspoons"
"You know what to expect from a Premier Inn"
= going into McDonalds for a mid-shopping trip poo, and then, when challenged by a member of staff, telling them that you'll be buying something when you're done.
motivated enough to try and prevent a McShit.
I certainly would never have done it in my own McGlory days.
You get a burger with fries not a burger and fries.
me: "hi, can i can a Big Mac and medium fries?"
McPeon: "uh okay sir"
*wait two minutes*
McPeon: "here you go sir"
me: "thank you!"
McPeon: "have a nice day"
me: "you too"
*leave the restaurant*
It makes it sound better.
i will order fast food (and tell this rather unfunny definition of sneaky maccy D poo trips) in the traditional style next time.
For example, if you ask for "chips" rather than "fries" that's probably a bit wanky. But on the other hand, if you say "I'll get some fries" as opposed to "I'll have some fries, please", then you're pretending to American, and people will think you work for Radio 1.
There's a line somewhere, but I'm not sure where it is.
In the days before McDonald's sold coke, everyone still asked for "Coke", even though the McPerson always had to say "that'll be McDonald's cola".
Actually, thinking about it, I really don't give a shit. I know where I am in the chip shop.
Unless I want something sweet, in which case a Maccy D's hot apple pie beckons.
Until MacD's get the 'curry sauce situation' sorted out they can fuck right off.
And Curry Sauce on a Smoked Sausage Supper is my favoured purchase from the chip shop. Thanks.
chip shop curry sauce is the food of the gods
WIT LARGE on DiS
That curry sauce is HACtually just spicy MSG laden powder that the chippie man/woman/person just adds water to.
This revelation nearly tipped me over when I saw what was going on. It was some harsh Wizard of Oz "peek behind the curtains" business for sure. For some reason I had thought it was made from scratch with onions and garlic and proper spices.
Still great though.
You can get Wing Yip ones from Sainsbury's or at least you used to be able to.
they are totally different entities.
you might as well be asking "trousers or cars?"
Shoes or Hairdressers?
