Who's it going to be, the puck-slapping maple suckers or the shatner-stealing mexico touchers?
I can't cope with the BBC build up. Jesus.
WI vs Zimbabwe T20 isn't really doing it for me at the moment.
I'll switch over in 5.
GO YOU PEOPLE WHO AREN'T AMERICA! GO!
I have it on mute til then. It's the best way
A man who can barely talk and knows nothing about ice-hockey sitting on a sofa talking about ice hockey.
The whole 'let's witter about the sociological implications of the game rather than in any way discussing it as a sporting event' is really grating as well. If this was football we'd be getting run downs on players etc etc. Fuck off BBC.
The West Indies are massively struggling to match the mighty Zimbabwe's 105...
It's like watching an arse kicking contest between two kids in wheelchairs.
2-2 in the last minute!
3 x 20 minutes.
& it just HAD to be Crosby :(
I take great delight in seeing the American players dejected. You can't win everything.
The only consolation I take from this is:
1) Mike Babcock is now undoubtedly one of the greatest coaches in the world, which, for being a Red Wing supporter through and through is a pretty great thing.
I just wish it hadn't been Crosby to score if we had to lose.
You must hate Crosby to no end. I'm ecstatic it was him that scored!
I do I do and a few others too but, eh, Yzerman is from Canada & he's been my favorite since I was little so even though he doesn't play anymore. Went USA mainly because Sweden & Russia fell.
d'oh. i always enjoy ice hockey when it happens to be on. the same applies, to a lesser extent, to snooker/darts/100m running.
The USA totally failed to do anything with their power plays. Those discussions between periods were really annoying. Why does anyone care what Pinsent thinks about it?" The puck takes a deflection there off a stick" - thank you for your insight.
I need to start watching ice hockey again. Except I don't have ESPN.
Canada were largely on top. Should really have wrapped it up in the last few minutes of the 3rd, but the draw and O/T made for excellent TV.
Agree with Pinsent. The BBC need to drop him entirely IMHO - doesn't really offer anything.
and one of the commentators said that the USA winning would have been Brokeback Mountain 2!
this was all I saw, but I'm fairly convinced that Ice Hockey must be a pretty awesome game..
he said something about America on Ice 2 or Brokeback Mountain 2 and the British guy was all like, do you even have a clue what you're going on about crazy american dude, and the american dude was all lost in some great idea about film titles and they moved on.
This was the greatest win ever. On home soil, overtime winner from CROSBY of all people and an assist from my beloved Jarome Iginla, gave Canada the record for most gold medals EVER in a winter olympics and the best part is that we beat those US fuckers. NOTHING is greater than beating the US in hockey - NOTHING. AAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
