My one year old has it, I didn't have it as a child, what are the chances of me escaping it ?!
comfort her or give her a cuddle yeah :(
but if you do (keep a look out for any spots) go to the doctor asap as i think antibiotics will only treat it if you start taking them in the first few days.
i think it can lead to shingles if you get chickenpox as an adult.
the impression it was more a case of grin (scowl) and bear it !
as it's common and not dangerous. but they will prescribe to adults if you ask. it's also worse if you get it as an adult.
its just frustrating not being able to comfort my little girl, I'm not to worried about myself.
and give her medised at night so she sleeps? (what age can they start having medised? my son is 9 so i forget!)
personally i would say don't avoid cuddling her as it spreads through the air. also, symptoms can take two weeks to start!
and they have reclassified it and now say not to give it to under 6's! when my son was a baby i think it was from 12 months!
lots.. I expect the calamine lotion will come into play in the next few days. Its also spread through the fluid thats contained in the spots apparently. You're right though, if I've got it I probably already have but don't even know it !
Don't know if there's much you can do about it at this point, but if you show any signs of it, I wouldn't hesitate about going to the doctor asap. I know of one person who went into a coma for three days from chicken pox.
my parents were completely unable to infect me with it as a child. They made me play with my sister, my friends, everybody who had it and i didn't catch it
apparently the doctor's best hypothesis was that because my mum had shingles when she was pregnant with me i've had the immunity passed on. Will this last my whole life though?!
