it's good that that idea's reached its logical conclusion so quickly
Surely that's the principle behind a lot of speculative fiction: "You know the real world, right? Well what if [this one, highly improbable set or circumstances] were allowed to occur?"
'The U.S. Navy has commissioned a group called Blue Water to genetically engineer a half-shark, half-octopus to help combat Somali pirate ships. Then things go wrong.'
Do Somali pirates have some sort of innate ability to successfully combat your standard shark or octopus then?
and then proceed to make everything else logical and realistic, that the film will somehow make sense. Brilliant.
