i've moaned about my landlord(s) before, he/they are fucking douchebags. We stayed in this crapping house for a second year because it's cheap, but there are limits as to what i'm willing to put up with for cheap rent. breach of contract for example is not really great - they come around unannounced ALL the time, and a couple of weeks ago i was literally woken up by one of them opening the door to my bedroom while i was in bed. having slugs coming in through a "fixed" wall in the kitchen is likewise not great, nor is a shower that is never warmer than tepid, or a fridge that is leaking. we made a comprehensive list of things that we wanted them to fix before christmas, and those things that i mentioned still remain. what they have been spending time and energy on however is installing a new wardrobe in my room, which i never asked for, and it's half the size of the old one which i could never fit all my clothes in anyway. but that's besides the point.
i texted my landlord earlier this evening, saying:
"hi [landlord], [other guy who "fixes" things] came around unannounced AGAIN today. I'm pretty sure the contract says we have a right to be given 24hr notice. Also, we still have slugs in the kitchen, the shower is still tepid and there's still water coming from the fridge. We hope these things will be fixed soon, so we don't need to involve keylet. Thanks, [us who live here]"
This is what i got in return:
"You have problems you want us to sort and yet you still require 24 hours notice to come and sort things? Perhaps it's best if you relay your problems via keylet, giving them suitable times when someone can enter the house. With regards, the small bedroom we suggest installing another new wardrobe [irrelevant stuff]. Please let me or keylet know if you feel this is acceptable. And if so, state a date for works. Thanks."
Now, i'm not in the wrong to want to punch him in the face here, am i?
