Lol @ scousers
dual football thread?
Don't forget to do this. http://www.grab5grand.com/
man u 3 pompey 1
burnley 1 wham 1
bolton 1 fulham 1
ipswish 2 boro 3
forest 2 wednesday 1
Exeter are in good form at the mo. Much as I really want us to win the next two games it's the league that's important and we've looked a little shaky recently against quality opposition. Three points today would be massive.
Dons in midweek... a draw will be sufficient. I fancy a day out at Wembley. We should do it.
Then the big one next Saturday. Skates obviously start as faves but I reckon we stand a chance.
Continuing lol @ the quality of the Prem.
who are massively milking competing with liverpool for the first time in forever.
That is all.
Everton are getting loads of space but doing nowt with it
shit on a stick
i might cry
we should try doing that more often if we want to stay clear of Forest and Brom.
the marketing men at City are now producing blue and white Wayne Bridge cuckold horns.
means f'all without a goal though.
berbatov with a pretty brutal miss
It's bad enough going through the emotional roller-coaster of a Spurs match without having to go through it with Liverpool and Man City too. Both at different times as well :(
next season youll be back to not competing with them and being a neutral again
You're right, good chance.
if that's a foul, I'm a dutchman.
at least norwich and charlton dropped points too. wonder if we'll finish top or second. promotion either way
Kilmarnock 3-0 Inverness
Ross County 9-0 Stirling Albion
St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee Utd
Dundee 2-1 Ayr
Hibernian 5-1 Montrose
Raith 1-1 Aberdeen
St Mirren 0-0 Rangers
Pretty pleasing set of results, though I was hoping to draw Ayr in the next round.
you arent drawing with teams you should beat now
best attacking midfielder in the world at the moment. got to love his face too.
equals a very poor douchebag
man city are cunts, Mancini out
Wealdstone 2-0 up at half time. Hendon win 3-2, Wealdstone lose 4-2. Add to that the Sutton/Gresley double coming in at 27/1, Stevenage losing and having 2 men sent off and everything went pretty damn swimmingly.
FUCKING HELL PORTSMOUTH ARE AN ABSOLUTE JOKE
gonna leave soon. bricking it. anything less than a win and i'll be incredible disappointed, but i don't expect us to get all three points today.
All but the most deluded of Arsenal fans knew which way the result would go today.
bloody hell wolves, how did you manage that...
i have an affinity towards wolves, they need to pick themselves up or they're just going to get stuck in a rut.
Even in the games we 'should' be able to win - I bet his game plan for today was to grind out a 0-0 draw. We always seem surprised when we manage to score. Argh. I think we'll stay up, but only because six teams are still within 3 points of each other, and we're all equally poor frankly. If Ebanks-Blake miraculously rediscovers his form, or we stop retreating into our shell as soon as we get a single goal, then maybe we'll be safe, but that's a big maybe. All it takes is for another couple of the teams near the bottom to start pulling away (as Hull seem to be doing now) and we're fucked.
I'd well fancy Forest, Newcastle and Brom to all stay up next year.
West Brom might do OK, but Billy Davies is quite open that he thinks Forest are overachieving - if they do go up (and it's likely) they will struggle.
Then again we beat Brum by 8 points last season and they've flown along in the Premiership while we've played like a mid-table Championship team.
and whether or not home consistency can be achieved. Davies says he basically doesn't want Forest to get promoted because of the indescribably torrid time he had of it at Derby. They also have a wierd transfer system going on there and I think Davies is angling for the board to allow him more say over it.
West Brom seem to have carved a living for themselves by hanging around between the Championship and the Prem for years now. They're in a strange and almost enviable position where they'll be completely fine with going up and straight back down again. They've managed to hang on to the main components of Mowbray's team and I fancy them managing it this time around.
I think Houghton will suffer big problems once his team start losing and his "democracy" starts to feel the strain. But Newcastle are quite clearly not a Championship side. They've done well to hang onto Lovenkrands and Smith whilst shuffling off a lot of the dross.
I cannot see any of the other sides in contention doing well. Cardiff and Sheffield United could scrape into becoming the new Hull if the Prem bottom half stays as bad as it is this year.
wigan should be safe as houses but i think they might be my pick for the third spot
They're horribly inconsistent but they'll pick up enough unlikely wins to be alright
It's going to be Burnley, Portsmouth and Wolves. Shame because they all actually play attractive football in fits and starts and are a damn sight easier on the eyes than the likes of Hull and Stoke
Ac Milan are currently being held by Bologna. eeeeek.
there's something you don't see everyday, or at least since December.
"Arsene Wenger is incredibly animated and has been since the kick-off. I have rarely seen him so agitated, barking at his backroom staff and the fourth official, gesturing wildly. He answered the offer of a coat by throwing it on the floor and has now taken to kicking it unceremoniously"
I wonder if it's possible to kick a coat ceremoniously.
i'd prefer it didn't happen to my team, but hey, its la liga.
still trying to walk the ball into the back of the net at 2-0 down with 90 minutes on the clock. Nasri has been wank
fancy liverpool to beat them for sure
Lose against the two front runners and suddenly you aren't fit to beat anybody. Arsenal were utterly mediocre today, but they'll run out next week 3-1, no problem.
theyve won 4 of the last 6, including villa, everton and spurs. awful form theyre in coming into this...?
Form may help them but Arsenal are still a much better side. Also, suggesting that beating Everton and Spurs in their current form at home is an achievement is a bit spurious.
Spurs have been pretty so-so over the last month. The two wins they've scratched together have come at home to West Ham and Fulham. Guide also does not include a fairly embarrassing encounter in the Cup.
And how about Everton? Talk us through their recent form. And then go back to Liverpool.
I've got nothing to say about Everton, except it's standard for only their studs to turn up to the derby. A defensive record like yours is terribly impressive when you're up against the attacking titans of Hull and a bus parking Villa, I'm sure. The only defensive players of yours I really rate are Bale and Dawson.
Liverpool are CRAP. I've had the misfortune to sit through most of their last 3 games, which is their supposed form. They have no depth, no style and no ideas. Part of the problem is this is clearly not Torres's season; he's been visibly struggling every time he's limped into my view. Without him, Gerrard and to a lesser extent Kyrgiakos, Carragher and Mascherano use pure graft to attempt to force a set-piece, and then once that goes in they defend it to the death. It isn't pretty, and it's only effective as long as the opposition themselves don't get the lead. Stoke do what they do better. I don't like agreeing with kik, but they are an absolute stain of a football club, with exactly one player of top drawer quality. Sad thing is, grafting like they are may very well add up to fourth or fifth place, but only because the only club near them that has any sort of consistency is Villa.
but they've nonetheless been grinding out results. But you seem to have constructed this whole web of poor form where no team's results count for anything, because even wins against apparently decent teams in decent form weren't actually wins against decent teams in decent form because the results of those apparently decent teams in decent form were only achieved against rubbish. So everyone ends up being rubbish!
As said, grinding out unremarkable 1-0s and 2-1s can add up to a very strong season. Avram Grant's Chelsea did it. I expect Liverpool to finish 4th or 5th. But I think it's fairly clear that they are on the way down.
Awful defender. I don't know what's happened to him. Such a shame.
as the season goes on as well
nearly had a heart attack every time arsenal had it in our half (most of the game, it seemed) but today you saw a defensive masterclass from the best defender in the country, john terry. petr cech also looked a lot more confident, but then again he is about 4ft taller than arshavin.
mikel obi had his best game in a chelsea shirt, drogba was his usual brilliant self against arsenal, ashley cole is the best left back in the world. in fact, only disappointing players today were anelka (wasn't really in the game) and ballack (sloppy, pass percentage was probably below 50).
arsenal aren't out of the title race anyway. they'll beat liverpool then they'll have an easy run in. we've got everton away this week, we'll drop two points there.
but john terry is always there when a ball comes in. i never used to appreciate him until i started going to games week in, week out and keeping my eye on him. he's a prick, but he is an absolutely magnificent player. i'd rather have him than anyone else at the centre of defence, and as the captain of the club.
well i think anything less than a win against the bin dippers will be the end of their title challenge, but arsenal can still come back into it. if we drop points on wednesday then it looks like man utd will walk it...hopefully not though.
Seemed to go exactly as I expected. Frustrating to see us make exactly the same mistakes as last week, I really think Gael Clichy's career as a left back should be brought to a sudden end. If you ask me, we're out of the title race, whatever our run in is like. I suppose this has shown us all the shocking reality that to win the title you need both strikers and a defence who speak to each other.
It is sad to see that we've barely progressed at all in a year. There's always the Champions League I suppose. I fancy us to stay in that until we get drawn against an English opponent.
with a last minute backheel winner for Santos
is Drogba's gay little scarf about?
did garth crooks manage to use the terms 'love affair', 'played away' AND 'balls of steel' in 30 seconds of talking about john terry. amazing scenes
