This looks like it's going to be painful.
Wait for the other episodes; they feature Nadine 'mad nad' Dorries. Awful, shrill harridan.
in these shows the "out of touch" MPs end up coming off better than the moronic public
Didn't quite follow the argument with the BNP supporter.
Paraphrased: "I support BNP because I like their policies - the put white people first. But I'm not racist, I hate racism. My best friend is coloured".
Shame that IDS has gone. He seemed ok.
Austin Mitchell is a colossal bellend.
(going to hell)
immediately regret posting that. Sorry.
reminded me of The Thick of It opposition special where Peter Mannion gets sent to work with "real-world people" in the Immigration office. Especially with him in the tracksuit. Hope his wife got better.
The other Tory guy came across ok, Mark Oaten as a bit naive, but a decent guy, however Austin Mitchell and the awful wife came across very badly.
rightly pointed out that the hounding of Mark Oaten by some local yoots is more than a smidge suspect.
How would the local ruffians recognise and acknowledge a relatively obscure MP and his history?
Gotta be a tip-off, surely.
I'm a bit sceptical of the whole thing.
couldn't really face the whole 'life-changing experience' and watching them all gloat about how it was nice to get taken out of their comfort zone yadder yadder. Plus I really hate Iain Duncan Smith - he's like a personality black hole.
That said, what I caught was worth it just for Tim Loughton's serious face as he was grinding down with the youth. Incredible.
They both took the time to listen and treated their host families with a bit of respect(Oaten was OK too).
It's all going to go tits up for them when Nadine Dorries is on next week though.
Arrrgh, make it stop!
