Spotify? Awesome. Is this the good life?
or is that THC hero?
Imagain a joint rolling guitar hero-esq game!?!? it would be well pap. 'FAIL, you forgot to lick the rizzla controller then spilled backy all over your socks while zoning out to Aphex Twin, you wont be progressing to the next round'.
Or am I on the wrong track?
Any good apps?
Beebplayer - good iplayer substitute. Does all the same stuff pretty nicely.
Google SkyMap (or whatever it's called) - Bit geeky, but really well done, and it works brilliantly.
Tube app of choice - Loads of these. Tells you what's running when.
WaveSecure - get this before February and it's free. Lets you remotely track/lock your phone in the unlikely event it gets nicked.
Fave apps so far:
Google listen - really neat podcast subscriber
Layar - augmented reality app with lots of different types of "layers", one shows where tweets from people you don't even know originated from and gives you directions on how to get to them! Even shows a pic of the person. Stalktastic!
Beeb player: Live BBC!
Metal detector: Detects metal!
What a fantastic phone.
Three sucks! :(
Considering getting one next month when my contract with "iPhone or fuck off"-meisters O2 is up.
It really is every bit as good as the iphone. I think the only thing iphone beats it on is the responsiveness of the screen, the hero is a bit laggy and doesn't seem as accurate. It's definitely usable, just not as smooth. Everything else though, A++++ . For example, can you listen to Mark Kermode podcasts on the iphone while playing flight control at the same time? I don't think so.
that should sort out some of the lag in places. The processor's not actually particularly quick though, so it'll have a limited effect.
Very slightly different UI. Wait until the X10 launches though - if you can afford that instead it's well worth doing so. Launches next month sometime.
So chances of getting it for free on a £25 contract are slim, right?
I guess so. If that's the kind of price in dollars, it'll cost you on a £25 contract. If the up front cost is likely to be an issue, ignore me and go with the G2 (or a Nexus or Droid if either of those are out and affordable in the UK when you buy).
coming to me this week. Looks like the best phone I've ever seen.
I'm guessing that was only version 1 or 2 at the most so this should be fucking amazing.
I'm sad I have to wait 11 months to get a new phone.
I've not been excited about a gadget since I got a game gear when I was like 12.
There is a really good Android 2.1 rom up on xda developers. If you've rooted your phone you should definitely get it. If you haven't then it's not hard to root, I did it last night in a few minutes.
The rom is great, my phone seems a lot faster now and the battery life has improved a bit. And Google navigation!
Hurr hurr. Where are the antipodeans when I need someone to appreciate why this is funny.
has somehow wrangled himself a deal on 3 so he gets an HTC Hero, unlimited texts, unlimited phonecalls, and unlimited internet on a 1(Theo)GB fair use policy - for £18 a month! Bargain.
not just at evenings/weekends
seems obvious now actually.
Just no more internet til next month! No chance of getting more, no functioning data counter on your account...
like £1 a day or something.
