How much would you kill someone for?
I'd want two and a half up front to prove it wasn't a set up.
That done, I'd use a silenced Browning Hi-Power handgun. It's a single action, semi-automatic pistol. I'd go for the .40 S&W since it's a reliable model and is widely used by over 50 different military organizations around the world. However, the 13 round capacity magazine leaves room for choice in ammunition, and I'd prefer hollow point bullets to ensure I got the job done. Hollow points are particularly effective since, on entry to the body, the "head" of the round breaks up into several dozen tiny shards of metal which literally shred the insides of the body. There are recorded cases of a hollow point entering the body in the lower torso and creating several different exit wounds in the head. One cannot sniff at certain death, particularly when one is being paid for the execution, so to speak, of it.
This was some years ago when it was still standard British Army issue. I believe it's still in use, but they're gradually switching to something else now.
