buh? How did this pass me by?
WALTON GOGGINS IS IN IT <3
Danny Trejo as well, and lets face it Rodriquez knows how to make films that go fucking nuts. Canny wait :)
only bad thing i can see is "Black Super Predators". what the hell, mang. on the other hand, Danny Trejo is in it! he damn well better spend the movie trying to kill a predator with a machete, while calling it "homes"
this will probably be rubbish. anyways, heres some stills form the set http://www.worstpreviews.com/images/headlines/temp/temp1990.jpg
I want one of those director's chairs! I see there's a big gatling gun like in the first film. :D "I AIN'T GOT TIIIMME TO BLEED!"
So seeing this. AVP1 and 2 burnt me before, but this has just got to be some improvement. Not sure about Adrian Brody as the lead though. Is he badass enough?
My reasons are threefold:
a) There's no real Arnie-like characters around these days - if they were to recast a similar figure, you'd be looking at Vin Diesel or some chump from Ultimate Fighting Championships etc.
b) He's a proven quality actor, which immediately puts this a step above pap like AVP:Requiem.
c) He apparently fought for the part as he's a big fan of Predator, so it's no Ed Norton in the Italian Job effort.
I'm very optimistic :D
Vin Diesel should be cast though - then gets sliced in half by the Predator about a minute into filming. :D
Yeah, with Danny Trejo - the Badge of Quality.
"In an interview with MTV, Rodriguez expressed that he wanted his reboot to be the direct sequel to the original, ignoring the Alien Vs Predator sequels" - well yeah, but also PREDATOR TWO.
It's going to be directed by a guy, who even though he was born in Los Angeles, decided to go and learn his skills at... the Hungarian Film Academy.
Plot involves humans being dumped on the Predator home world and hunted by... "Black Super Predators"?!?!
This is probably going to be amazing.
one of the guys had his camera stolen and the pics got leaked, just a few images of Predators standing around or him and Adrien Brody all smiles and guns :D
It actually sounds like it might be EFFING AMAZING
In vaguely related news, I discovered yesterday that the placement student in my office has never seen Commando, Predator, or any other seminal Arnold film, so I've brought him a selection today. He is in for a good time :D
But how the fuck has he gone this long without seeing any of them? Is he amish?
I've told him he has to ask serious questions of his father.
I didn't bring him Terminator / T2 because I assumed he'd have seen them - turns out, no. Also, he's not seen Alien / Aliens. I might have to strap him into a chair in front of a television, Clockwork Orange style.
Has he seen the films of John Carpenter?
and as such have only seen First Blood, Total Recall, Predator, Rocky and Terminator in the last 2 years.
I also only saw both Alien and Aliens in the last 5 years, and am still to witness the uncut Robocop / Bad taste / Evil Dead (though seen 2) / Commando / any JCVD flick. Shocking eh?
I grew up on Disney musicals. Disney musicals I tell you...
I blame my sister for that :)
and a general adoration of pop featuring 3 part harmony?
I'm sure we talked about it in that AvsP thread last week?!?!
that the origins for the original Predator film came about through a joke that was going around Hollywood following the release of Rocky IV. The joke was that Rocky Balboa had run out of earthly opponents, so would need to fight an alien in the next film in order to go one-up on the previous film. This was taken seriously by the screenwriters, Jim and John Thomas.
I love stories like that.
In fact, I busted it out earlier, where it was entirely lost on my young workmate. The prick.
