I'm in your part of the cuntry, is there anything to do here?
Getting massively knobbered on cider is probably the best shout to be honest.
The Blue Raddle is a good pub for that sort of thing. Tom Brown's is sort of opposite (at the bottom of the hill of the main high street) and has a nice micro-brewery out back too. Ask for the Goldfinch stuff.
Dunno, how long you down there?
I'm 20 miles South East of you in the Bournemouth megalopolis.
I echo the Blue Raddle and Tom Brown's, both are fine pubs.
Also, get one of the delicious pasties from Celtic Kitchen which is in one of the little arcade type things (might be Antelope Walk). Have you been up to Poundbury yet? Prince Charles' little experiment in town planning. It's a bit strange. Day trip to Weymouth is a possibility if you run out of smack.
Monkey World and the Tank Museum (largest collection of tanks and armoured fighting vehicles IN THE WORLD!!!) are nearby and both fun places to visit.
You should get down to Lulworth Cove too which is beautiful.
pick a rampart, walk round the entire circumference and count how many dead animals you have to step over. It's ACE!
There's lots of Thomas Hardy-related sights to see.
Whatever you do, don't go to Yeovil.
'The Mind of a City, the Heart of the Country'
Yeovil only exists to make Taunton seem glamorous in comparative terms.
well, actually a couple, but that's only because polly harvey used to kick off her tours at Le Jardin (previously known as The Gardens. Seriously). Fuckhole of a cuntflap of a place.
but i'd just like to second the pasty reccomendation. those mothers are awesome.
