But Avatar will win
it'll be an absolute joke.
He, Avatar and Cameron are the most likely of the Golden Globes winners to win again at the Oscars
But Moon wont get anything by the looks of things. Boo.
phrase it that way and enjoyed it more than sensible english.
First time I saw Moon I didnt give it my whole attention, then I watched it again and was incredibly impressed.
Sorry, I mean, I like speaks of you in spam
they could give him the two best man awards for playing the same character
Was The Wrestler this year? I thought Mickey Rourke was good but it's been so long since I saw it I can't remember if I really thought that or not at the time or if I've just been influenced by reviews over the year.
He lost to Sean Penn for Milk
It was originally meant to be Tom Cruise as the lead in Milk but he didn't want to add any fuel to the flames over his sexuality. I'm glad Penn got it but I'm always really curious to see how a role would have been played differently.
Sam Rockwell stuff: he and Shane Meadows might be doing a film together. This is unbelievably good news for me :D
But Avatar will probably win one, given how much the industry are banking upon its monumental success. It's already won a Golden Globe for best 'drama' even though its hugely derivative and emotionally flat.
Avatar - Best Cinematograpghy and effects (they cant not give it something and it deserves recognition for it technical achievments)
Best film - Up in the Air (ITS ABOUT JOB LOSSES!!!)
I also reckon at least one actor will be recognised from Up in the Air and Precious (and one of these two will probably win the script adaptation)
The trailer makes it look like this gritty melodrama and while that is apparent in parts it's a well balanced, deeply effecting film.
it'll be the worst winner since Forrest Gump.
What kind of heartless monster wasn't charmed and inspired by Forrest Gump?
although, it didn't have much competition
Sense and Sensibility
Lots of shitty films that are neither indie or blockbusters but straddle a weird line and usually do nothing for me whatsoever.
Stick in a controversial race issue, bit of casual rape, under-performing-but-once-great actor or holocaust theme and hey presto, you have an Oscar nomination.
Roll on March.
but alas, it's apparently not even being considered for Best Documentary for some reason. Ridiculous.
Why wasn't it nominated in 2008 then? Ridiculous.
It'll just get the token "best animated feature film" award and not be nominated in other categories though.
makes a film that gives her a good chance to be the first female best director winner, and she might just end up losing to her ex-husband, who before this hadn't released a film for over a decade.
And Perhaps John Hillcoat for best Director, a very talented man.
Essentially though, I was left disapointed by the film, so I won't be touting it for best picture.
