Actually I did it on Monday, but I forgot to make a thread.
I am HAPPY! xD
One month to go! Party times. YAS.
see you in scootland soon!
I am excited about moving :D although not the actual 'moving' part, that is going to be a massive ballache!
..and am starting a PhD in evolutionary biology instead. I'm going to be making insects 'DO IT'.
Got a flat with my girlfriend in Stirling sorted out, so I'm moving there towards the end of February (she works in Dundee so will be commuting). I am excited about research but also utilising 'THE GATEWAY TO THE HIGHLANDS', or something. Especially as I won't be able to afford to go on proper holidays :D
similarly i worked out yesterday that if all goes to plan i have 164 more working days in this job :D
I want to quit my job.
I can help you make insects 'DO IT', I have some great ideas based on an Blind Date style insect entertainment and also introducing the concept of date rape to them.
mushing them together repeatedly.
Or maybe not.
Now that there's not enough snow for snowball fights, that's what I'll be thinking about as I wait in the shadows around Hucknall Road / Haydn Road for you.
the pavements are lethal out there today.
Took me AGES cos of the ice. I saw several people fall over on my street :D it was hilarious (mostly because I didn't fall over so I am the best)
I managed to stay upright throughout my walk from Haddon St to the bus stop. But when I got into town I got cocky and ended up falling on my arse outside the Broadmarsh.
all the slush has turned to black ice. nasty.
Jordan_229_2 and TheSoundofBastards are also round there, plus another guy I've met who lurks on here but doesn't post but he is nice and has sweet silver trainers :D
I didn't want to tar you with the Carrington brush..
or 10minutes, as carrington point is a fucking icehell.
as much as i do?
really bad at shopping, so i end up there most days, all the staff say hello to me, which is a bit creepy but strangely welcoming.
and I was like 'omg he thinks I am a SHOPLIFTER', but then actually he was trying to find a quiet bit of the shop so he could send a text message :D
I hate anyone who doesn't know how to use the self-service machines. Also I think that the little ginger girl is strangely attractive.
i think its pity.
i hate self service machines. they always bleep when i try to buy booze. which is every day.
Donuts are more expensive than they are in town... grr!
How do you tell if an insect consents? Just because it's dressed sexy and put make-up doesn't automatically mean it wants sex.
I take it there will be some kind of farewell-to-Nottingham shindig?
eg do I have a party at my house, or due to lack of knowing many people in Nottingham will this end up being SRSLY AWKWARD :D
it's round the corner see.
I went to Jordan and Nick's on Friday on the proviso that you were coming, then I turned up and you weren't coming, and that made me MAD.
but I looked out of the window and it was snowing and cold. I was inside and warm. You see my dilema.
Next time fo so.
Although, it I'm not sure if it ever lives up to the resignation fantasies.
that shit is EXPENSIVE for a student
you can't be random about though, you need a plan, you need to make sure you get everything, and lots of it
I just got this email at work:
I am doing a stationary request today please let me know before 12pm if you need anything.
Do you think she means requests for poses?
This is definitely in my top 3 favourite spelling mistakes :D
this was in a thread yesterday
seriously though, you've got 7 minutes...
get your stationery requests in
(see if you can wing a decent scientific calculator out of it)
I wish soemthing exciting like this would happen to me
I'm p. much over the first term of college and January blues arn't very forgiving. I need change.
Enjoy it yeh
College, eh? O TO BE YOUNG AGAIN.
As I'm going back to uni, I might shave every day in an attempt to look fresh-faced and young again :D
It makes me feel as though I'm not really a teenager anymore even thogh I'm only 19.
A couple months ago, I was in a toxic job, and told my employer to stuff it. Best decision I have ever made.
I've been here 3 years now, it's a good job and good employers and stuff, but I'm just not fussed about it and I can't imagine forging a proper career out of it! Plus I've been doing long-distance with my girlfriend the whole time and I've decided that being able to pump her during the week would be nice. LOLZ ETC
Pumping your gf during the week has been a major upside for me too.
You shall definitely need to go walk in the highlands, I've been told it's lovely around Stirling. And there's good busconnections to Glasgow and Manchester to sort out your concertwishes. Doing a Ph.D. always means your doing something you like to do. Moving closer to your girlfriend. Yep your doing alright for yourself here mate.
and it's up a hill so you can see over the town, and out towards the Wallace Monument. The trains to Glasgow / Edinburgh are regular, take a while and the return ones aren't that late unfortunately BUT my parents have a flat in Glasgow that I can stay in if I'm going to be out late.. it's all coming up roses :D
I'm going to get some walking boots and cement my transition to being old and rubbish. Hooray! I'm also thinking about getting a touring bike, I've got a road bike but there's no clips for panniers - I'd like to be able to load up and cycle through to Loch Lomond, it's only 20-something miles.
scotland funtimes ahoy! I've not spent much time in Stirling but it's supposed to be quite nice :) plus it has the Tolbooth which puts on some really good gigs. hooray!
I dunno if I'll make the trip to West brewery, but I spoke to Mr Cool about potential funtimes after I've moved and stuff.. I shall also have to find out which pubs are good in Stirling - went to one last time I was up which was round the corner from us, nice and cosy and small and had old men who were all drunk and friendly :D plus wikipedia says it is HAUNTED! woo :D
I looked at the Tolbooth schedule but I think most of it was while the students were away so it was just local bands *scared* hah I think my girlfriend's band are barred from there or something? They are obviously just too hardcore, with their cardigans and accordions and that. Ooh also I have to find out if any Scottish DiSers are going to the Islands gig at Captain's Rest in May! But I should probably concentrate more on stuff like moving house and new job and crap first. HMPH
We still haven't had a Doom night!
Me and Rachel will have to come and visit you in Scotland at some stage!
i hope that includes some karl urban and or some guitars tuned down to A
*providing it will work on my TV
means i've discussed the jaguar controller before
I need to work out the logistics.. my *general* plan is that I'd finish on the 12th Feb, maybe take either a van of stuff or my car up that weekend, then fly back down to get car / van during the following week. I was hoping to go and visit my friend in Barcelona for a couple of days before I start my new job, but his email replying is pretty erratic so I'm not sure how likely that is (I would like to know if he's actually going to be around before I book the flights!)
A Doom night would be sweet :D and yes, would be cool to have you guys visit once I'm settled in (and have discovered which pubs are 'safe'..!)
We were sat in that pub in the corner, and there was a bunch of old guys at the bar, when an alarm went off somewhere... one of them pointed at my girlfriend and shouted "IT'S HER KNICKER ALARM!"
xD xD xD
Old guys are GREAT
At some point soon I'll get the CRB clearance for my new job and finally hand my notice in here. I really can't wait!
although, you're probably not from there.
It is dead annoying though - I got offered the job in early December but, because of Xmas etc. the HR department didn't even put my CRB application in until last week - it could be another seven weeks so there could easily be three months between me being offered the job and handing in my notice and four months between me being offered it and actually starting.
I'm itching to move flats as well and can't do that 'til I hand my notice in 'cos I'd need the money from my new job to afford it...
fucking MON them
Where are you based? Is it not somewhere retarded like Aberdeen?
I need to find someone else who plays football to help me sort out some FOOTBALL. Gah. I don't think I'll miss it quite enough to travel up there, however.
is that sometimes other people sit at my desk when I'm away so they can talk to the people around me, and when I come back I go to write something and the pen I've picked up is all chewed
I DON'T CHEW PENS
i found it on the floor.
i'm going to get aids.
Managed to pick it up just inside the 2-seconds.
I hope I don't die.
well this is sad.
Death clock challenge :D
Sore knee, but no death symptoms as yet.
Feeling a bit sniffly.
Can't remember if I was feeling a bit sniffly before I chewed the pen.
Probably was, it's winter, silly.
