Being 'the one that's good with words' in your social circle
Does anyone else have this problem? I mean I should be grateful I'm not borderline retarded, grammatically speaking, but I've got a bit of a reputation amongst friends and family as being half decent at all things English related. I studied Journalism. That's all they're basing it on. Tenuous.
As a result whenever anyone considers applying for a job or updating their CV they ask me for help. I've done it a lot, and actually helped my friend's out a few times and done a pretty good job if I don't say so myself. That's not the point though. It's flattering - but I really cannot be arsed most of the time and I can't exactly say no can I? Otherwise i'll become the selfish bastard that no one likes. At this moment I've got my brother looking at my for help, and my dad. Grr.
Anyone else have this frustrating burden?
