Favorite teams? players? who do you love/hate?
been sucking balls this year, but havent seemed to get in the groove yet. CP3 seems off his game.
But they are floating around .500 so they are in good position to make a little run and get a playoff seed.
My boys are the Warriors. yikes, what a trainwreck.
Had such high hopes this year, crippled by injuries and the jackson saga and now the wheels have well and truly fallen off. Ellis is carrying a load and a half too many and I cant believe we STILL dont have a bigman (aside from the big sidelined latvian). Oh for the promising happy days of mullin and hardaway...
Anyways, how solid to the celtics look again
I had really high hopes in 08 and they bent me over again. The worst ownership in the league by a country mile. Not keeping J Rich, not paying Baron and forcing Mullin out. Cohan-Rowell can gargle deez...
Nellie has run his course, time to go. Hes the reason we dont have a bigman, he wouldnt play him if we did. He cant even be fussed to run Randolph and Beidrins together for fear of ruining his precious small ball.
Curry is ok but he will be a specialist at best IMO. Monta has impressed me in that he's playing hard even tho he got his contract already. And he hasnt whined too much like Jax did. He has developed some bad habits but I think he is living up to his contract (almost). He does need to working on his end of game 'clutchiness' as he seems to choke everything away in close game situations.
TONS of talent on the Dubs but no leadership and crazy coach = no playoffs.
You from the Bay? How did u get to be a fan?
like 3 sub .500 teams hold playoff spots, and would be in like 12th if they were in the west.
Basketball is probably one of the most predictable sports, since there is rarely a game changing moment that decides the outcome.
I'm supose to like the raptors being from toronto, but Chris Bosh has a fucking turtle face. I like Dwayne Wade and the Heat, and Oklahoma City and kevin Durant
and even they are .429 this seaon as mentioned above eastern conference sucks so much they are just outside the playoffs. Just half a season of rubbish to go before King James is appointed ruler of Madison Square Garden and back in the playoffs
he aint coming man, pipe dreams IMO. He will stay in Cleveland, they can offer him the most. NY is still screwed by the cap and have no talent for him to come to, AND, and unproven coach, good coach, but unproven. I think Wade will stay and Bosh will sign in Miami, then Beasley will play the 3 and they will dominate the hell out of everyone. Or they could run small ball and play bosh at the 5.
I think NY will get some second tier talent like Boozer or the like.
but from speaking with people here they reckon the commissioner (sp?) may try to push for it as for nba to really gloabl you need a strong knicks team and what better man for the job. But that all sounds like a pipe dream to me.
David Lee is actually playing really good this year even if apart from being tall he looks nothing like he should be good.
I think realistically for the championship you can't look beyond boston, orlando, lakers or cleveland
could throw a wrench in there, but you are probably right.
Love what David Lee is bringing. Lakers vs Blazers is on tonight (great rivalry), as well as Cleveland v Denver, might have some excitement.
those other teams all have clutch players that you can almost guarantee will perform when it matters and I really like orlando now they have added vince carter as well.
I'll be watching both games this evening, need to sit at home at relax after being out for bcs game last night and in advance of the booze marathon for the nfl games tomorrow
in the States right now innit?
College bowl games, NFL playoffs, NBA playoffs (my favorite) just around the corner, Tiger scandal, ahhhh...
Times is great, although the wife says otherwise.
will be fighting for a 1st round playoff pounding. Bosh is beastin' for that contract, and he will get maxed out. Toronto is startin to ball tho, probably only to crash and burn at the end like last year unfortunately.
OKC are nice, a buncha young pups scrapping for wins and future contracts. I love Harden, he is gonna be special.
Still like the Suns, Blazers and Rockets. 3 teams playing above their talent levels at the moment.
Nash is deity.
but i sort of gave up on phoenix a while ago, they always win like 60 games in the season but never translates to success in the playoffs cause the spurs/lakers just have their number.
blazers use to be one of my favourite teams when i was like 7 or 8, but i just hate how over rated greg oden is/was.
Rockets are such a scrappy team, didn't they almost knock out Lakers last year? i just don't find them much fun to watch.
more just closely watched (and hounded by the media). He finally was starting to ball when he got hurt, he was beginning to dominate quarters and it was clear he was turning into what they had hoped. then... that poor knee, ah well.
I know what you mean about the Rockets, but I just appreciate that they are playing so much higher than their talents permit, gotta respect that. A bit stale tho on offense. Haha McGrady, what a bater, not much for that guy.
Also, I disagree with your earlier statement: "Basketball is probably one of the most predictable sports, since there is rarely a game changing moment that decides the outcome. "
Those moments happen all the time in games, just not once, its back and forth, up and down, with multiple game changing scenarios. Its just... who's gonna get the last one.
Too much scoring?
Too many dunks?
Too many lead changes?
Too many close games?
Too many buzzer beaters?
Too much sweat?
Too many insanely athletic people?
You could argue boring for baseball, hockey even soccer, but basketball? nah. Consistently the most exciting sport on earth.
Maybe you dont like it, but boring it is not.
it's actionactionactionaction and it grates. i like sports where a goal is a hard thing to achieve, and hard to come by - such as in the other American sports, football, rugby etc. basketball just seems like a free for all with pot luck deciding the winner sometimes?
"Oh no, another shitty local news story...hey...wait!"
If he didn't get at LEAST a number or a date out of that, then he is a worthless specimen.
not as good as hockey obviously is, and I prefer Baseball just cos it reminds me of cricket.
I don't have a favorite team but I like LeBron James and probs Cavs by default.
My relatives are probably more into basketball than football, so follow(ed) the 76ers. FYI european basketball is generally more entertaining than the NBA. Not so much end to end dunking. Better passing.
is great. If you havent watched the NBA in a while, its worlds better then it was pre-2004. ANd a lot of that has to do with the addition of euro players, coaches and offensive schemes. The league is much more, uh, "skills" focused like I would consider international ball to be. Players like Ginobli, Nowitzki, Nash, Galinari, Gasol bros, Bargnani, Skola, etc. have really added to the quality of the game. Its much more fundamentally (passing, movement, screens) based and less focused on sheer brutality and athleticism. The newer rules have helped make the games more entertaining as well, more scoring and more movement.
Funny you say Iverson is your favorite player, yet he stands for everything it seems you hate about the NBA; he is the shining horse of selfishness and lazy defense. One of my least favorite players in the league.
it doesn't seem to be on uk tv this season, so I've no idea whats gone on since last years finals.
Portalnd, Clevland, Cleavland, Chicargo, Detroit... But anyone really. I use to watch it loads as a kid when it was on more often but it keeps disapearing from the UK for years on end sometimes.
late night american sport sessions are the best way to get thru a night without sleep!
You need to find a way to watch it Jimi. atdhe.net has all the games for streaming.
