Viera, SNOW CHAOS, something else
anyone putting money down on the number of cancelled games?
Looks like Drog and Essien won't be missing any games after all...
Put some elbowe grease into your football threads.
and calf deep snow
'the hosts are currently confident the match will go ahead', and no football fixture has ever been called off at the KC. It fucking better be on. Postponed matches are the very worst, even if it's due to Diana's death...
I'm sure the KC is fine but the surrounding area can't be. It's the second-longest journey we make in the league too, isn't it? Wouldn't have thought many of ours could make it.
Anything to spend an afternoon snarling inwardly at Stephen Hunt. He'll always be a cunt...
Birmingham sign Michel and are rebuffed in their pursuit of Aiden McGeady.
Portsmouth, whilst having 'no need to sell' admit that 'every players has his price'.
Wigan consider making a bid for Scott McDonald whilst signing Sporting keeper Vladimir Stojkovic on loan.
Hull target Caceido, who is back at Man City after failing to impress at Sporting Lisbon.
Nicky Hunt signs for Derby.
Plymouth have their transfer embargo lifted.
Daniel Cousin could sign on loan for QPR after the ACON.
That's about as good as it gets people.
senior pompey player coming out in the press demanding to be told the truth about the clubs situation (without giving his name)
He'll presumably be 3rd choice at Wigan once ACoN is over, and wasn't 1st choice at his parent club, yet is 1st choice for Serbia, who have a pretty terrifying defence.
just need to get rid of Senderos first.
Manbearpig not like. Bad medicine
Not sure if he would have come though, doubt they would offer more than a 6 month. There's no way they would have matched the 18 months with the possiblity of another 12.
That sounds pretty ominous.
He's staying as owner but putting no more money into the team, it sounds like he is going to appoint a chairman who has more time to deal with club matters as hasn't been around much lately. We will no doubt lose most games from here to the end of the season and get relegated next year and maybe the year after that but if it gives us a chance of surviving beyond 2012 then it will be a good thing.
I hope whatever happens your long term future is secured.
any news/thoughts on EPL cancellations for the weekend? Don't want to be fielding a team full of non-starters in the old FF...
so im leaving it as late as possible
Still, should make for some fun Double Gameweeks in the coming months.
What an awesome site...i wish i'd known about this sooner...
would like that, i think. hadn't really considered him before, huh
also i'm going to hunt down whichever clown started that "warnock to become manager" rumour and feed them their own kidneys
somewhere inside him lurks a really good player and I was hoping Steve Bruce would be able to extract this talent from him.
Strange move if he went to Birmingham or Stoke; sideways at best.
when he's good he's a like Drogba, and even when he's not he's still likely to be better than any replacement you're likely to get.
and for him, Stoke is definitely a step down, Birmingham might have form but as you say, ultimately they're not a better side than Sunderland.
and then saying 'birmingham are on form' and would therefore be a better destination, is a touch off the mark.
i agree that it would be a step down for him clubwise, but if he feels that he'd play better elsewhere (he'd definitely get in the stoke side every week and pulis would get the best from him), then why not?
We only need a striker and a left back. If liverpool are daft enough to reject 9mil for Babel we'll have Jones for 11mil instead. I'd be happy with either. We really don't need much at this point of the season. Sunderland and Blues in my opinion are on a par in terms of club size. Hardly a step down really coming to us or Stoke either. All 3 are far from guaranteed prem side but all more than capable of getting back up from the champi any given season.
i'd rather have kenwyn than babel
although this has come from a footie forum, and we all know what forums are like for spouting nonsense.
Take this with a pinch of salt...if you can find any!!! HAAAa!!!1 TOPICALOL!!!!!!!!11121
I expect to see several of these games go m.i.a. tomorrow morning, hence why I might just save my transfer this week ready for normality to resume.
twas several weeks before I realised we had a transfer embargo, that's how little it was reported. Still Steve Maclean is supposed to be out the exit door very soon.
Let's hope we can resign Shane Lowry and David Gray on loan.
I don't think you're usually allowed to make loan signings either.
A Fulham statement read: 'The club can confirm that Saturday's Barclays Premier League fixture against Portsmouth at the Cottage has been postponed due to the adverse weather conditions which are not expected to improve over the next 24 hours.
Liverpool v Spurs and Sunderland v Bolton games expected to follow soon.
Liverpool look like they're too scared to play spurs too.
from HMRC for the 2nd time.
he's still trying to sign players. Even if he's telling the truth and has just inherited the mess from Sam Hammam, he's still clearly a collosal cretin.
that his consortium had got all the debts from Hammam's time at Cardiff under control. It's not like paying your tax is an unexpected cost that suddenly came out of nowhere... it's pretty much the first thing you should be budgeting for!
Stephen MacPhail was being treated for cancer. Not good.
maybe playing for Napoli he'll get the place in the Italy side he lost playing for Liverpool
shame about Cardiff certainly one of the more attractive and capable sides in the league
It's going to be the worst Soccer Saturday ever!
At present, there's really no need for that. All the tubes and buses in the area are running fine and Uxbridge, South Africa, Loftus etc Road are all fine, not dangerous at all. Of course that could change but this seems a tad alarmist, unless it's purely for the sake of travelling Argyle fans.
I forgot what club I was talking about momentarily.
I’m glad all these Prem games are being cancelled. I mean, if there’s one thing this league and my team need more it’s fixture congestion. Also, I have lots of other things to do at the weekend instead of watching football, so I will do those other things.
Viera is on over £100,000 a week? madness
allowing us to pull 11 points clear at the top of the table/ for the fans to boo Beckford for 90mins..
65% of Bolton’s goals have been netted using the left foot and just 8% via the right foot, league high and low respectively.
and bellends, presumably with Vaz Te contributing highly to the latter.
ALBION remain confident tonight's Hawthorns clash with promotion-rivals Nottingham Forest (ko 7.45pm) will go ahead.
The Hawthorns was subjected to further sub-zero temperatures overnight but the under-soil heating should make the pitch playable.
The club are once again hiring snow ploughs, gritters and extra manpower to clear the snow and ice from the stadium and all areas they are responsible for."
we're Nottingham Forest
I have a tough draw in round/gameweek 21, they scored a monstrous 103 points last week, i think i may go out this week.
on Gary Neville becoming the new Burnley manager
Jose Fonte on his way from Palace, Neil Danns coming along as well apparently which'll be good. Couple of quality players (for League 1) dropping down a Division to play for us is something that I couldn't have dreamed of last summer, especially as they're going to cost a combined couple of million. With any luck Leeds will cock up in the Johnstons Paint Trophy, although I can't see this happening, and we'll be odds on for our first piece of silverware since 1976!
officially OFF. What a load of bollocks. This whole 'abondoning games due to safety concerns outside the stadium' never used to happen did it? Bit of a joke IF YOU ASK ME.
"Nobody accepts any risk any more and everybody is always guided by fear.
"If one of 60,000 people has an accident, you feel very guilty and nobody accepts anymore that the slightest insecurity could exist in our society and that is why the games are postponed when there is no real need for it."
Whilst obviously it's not meaningful in terms of who's best, it does put into perspective as a supporter how well you're used to your team getting on.
For example for all the doom and gloom, Leeds actually had the seventh best record of the last ten years and the fact Bristol City are sixth explains why the supporters are getting arsey now we're faltering in mid-table, despite the fact to all intents and purposes we're doing fairly well.
it's only when you get a few games called off do you realise how much you miss being put through abject torture for 90 minutes.
Club officials have today (Friday 2pm) met with local authority inspectors regarding Saturday’s home game against Manchester United (kick-off 5.30pm) who have reiterated that they are happy for the fixture to go ahead. This followed an inspection earlier in the week.
Discussions have also taken place with the emergency services and the Premier League since the recent bad weather took hold and club staff have worked around the clock to ensure St. Andrew’s Stadium walkways, car parks and other areas are clear.
The club’s undersoil heating system means there are no problems at all with the pitch.
The usual pre-match checks will take place on matchday and any further updates will be communicated to supporters at bcfc.com and via the media.
Keep Right On!
Jammy fucking Gooners.
not much point unless you've got someone to finish though. Berbatov offers nothing when we're chasing a game these days so I'd be tempted to give that Diouf a crack in the second half.
By what margin do you reckon this is the worst Man U team in 15 years?
there is a lot of mediocrity in that squad though. I couldn't understand the decision to start with one up front when it was obvious they were going to play with a 10-man defence. Waited far too long to get a second striker on and sticking Valencia on the left and Giggs on the right was bizarre, they're both totally one-footed ffs.
Fletcher's second booking was soft as fuck though. Clattenburg shat it because the crowd had been getting on his back. I've always thought he was a useless, wig-wearing wankshaft and that just underlined it.
was soft but he'd let the game flow through some hefty challenges.
shame Diouf didn't really get the chance to play his way into the game after the sending off, as exciting as his pace is though i'm sure Owen would have been a better option to come on and get a goal.
4-5-1 was the wrong idea, especially with three central defenders playing so deeply, was no-one in the box most of the time.
definitely not a worse squad that the one you mentioned, not by a long way. we do need someone with a bit of spark for the 2/3rds of games were Rooney is ineffective though, but thats it (if our defence is fit of course)
end of season predictions:
3. Man City
4. Man U
But if Vidic and Ferdinand and VDS don't come back, maybe swap spurs and Man U. ;)
2003-4-5 I think, can't really remember the 90s, but can't imagine it happened.
George Best is probably turning in his grave watching people like Park Ji Sung, Rafael, Fabio, Valencia and Berbatov who frankly aren't fit to wear such a distinguished shirt.
I'd have him back at WHL in a heartbeat. One of the best players I've ever seen at Spurs, probably on a par with Sheringham. Must be the management and coaching at Old Trafford.
and I remembered that at Spurs Berbatov not only scored great goals but made forward runs and actually looked for the ball instead of hiding all the time. I don't know whether it's what he's being told to do at United but all he ever does now is piss about in midfield to no particular effect.
I haven't been this frustrated by a player since Veron was at the club. It does my head in watching him throw his arms in the air whenever HE misplaces a pass. I rated him at Spurs but I have to say he's shaping up to be a terrible buy for us.
he doesn't look like he gives a shit at united. at spurs he looked hungry, would make space and time and great chances for himself. he just doesn't seem to fit with rooney and the others at all
And the idea he's not a suitable partner for Rooney is rubbish, I think. I thought Heskey was only in the England team because of the way he complements Rooney? And surely Berbatov is like a much, much better Heskey?
i swear i've seen video of him doing some actual running in a white shirt before
he was great partner for Keane, and surely rooney is like a much better Keane?
I think they just need time; they've barely played as a front two.
he's got such a good first touch. I reckon Barca could've bought him instead of Ibrahimovic and wouldn't have noticed the difference.
Absolutely abysmal. I'm starting to hate them. How that Siena side are rock bottom of the league I don't know, although them having 6 players happily legging it forward to join in a counter-attack at 3-3 in the last minute probably tells you something. The kings of brainless/exciting goalfest football, Genoa, play Catania today, this game could easily finish 5-4.*
*nailed-on 0-0 now I've said that.
something about a horse and stable door
why would everton winning at arsenal be a famous victory?
and only ever seem to give 110% when they're against Liverpool?
I only heard that piece of commentary from the other room...
with being a derby fan, forest some blinding football today & could off won by more (possible anderson penalty??) . Looks like davies will be getting more than that mid-table position he was hoping for.
absolutely shambolic defensively. there's no other word for it. Everton could have scored six.
arsenal scoring an equalising goal in the 92nd minute is just PFFFFFT
all the matches being snowed off is that we got to see proper extended highlights of that Arsenal v Everton game on MOTD. Looked like a belter of a game.
