I got 61
I was screaming when I saw some of the names - having desperately racking my memory of my Merlin sticket albums
I have the horrible feeling that I'd get fewer than that if I tried again.
Is Efan Ekoku one?
I remember some geezer commentator - a latter day Perry Groves/Ray Parlour type years ago on Talksport going "..an' that Ruel Foz, 'e couldn't put a cross in a coupon box". Still amuses me to this day
that really proud / smug (delete as applicable) grin whenever Efan Ekoku comes up in things like this.
Sutton United legend!
was an absolute monster. About 19 foot tall and half as wide.
I blame a boss who kept walking past, a total blank of footballing history between 1997 and 2005 and the inability to spell RVN properly.
I got 81 though. Good fun...
I got 81 too, and then my computer switched itself off with 7 minutes to go. Although I must admit I was running seriously short on inspriration by that point.
I did get Hamilton Ricard, though. Balanced I guess by my forgetting Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
I got just about everyone else in that first column.
I spent ages retyping in 'Stuart Ripley' thinking he MUST be in here?
after realising how little attention I've been paying to the premiership for the last ten years. Also my spelling was serverely letting me down. I mean how do you spell Solskar? That's not right is it? Plus, I think it should have accepted Matthew Le Tissier as well as Matt Le Tissier.
and it shows how out of touch I am that I still refer to the premier league as 'the premiership'.
*wipes away tear
Anyone used to have the MOTD Race For The Title VHSs? 95/96 the greatest video ever, despite the criminal lack of attention paid to about 16 of the clubs in the league
is my favourite Premiership season.
But looking back through the answers it's a very poor showing.
Any man who can't remember Jan Aage Fjortoft or Garry Flitcroft doesn't deserve to make a ton on that list :(
and I forget some absolute sitters....
But I missed some very obvious ones like Eric Cantona and Dion Dublin. I got Noel Whelan though, but that's cos we share a surname.
It's more a memory test of players who have been in the Premiership for a long time, because players like Lee Bowyer or Patrick Berger never had prolific seasons, but they've scored consistently over the years.
Though I did get the top 27 right :)
I also failed to correctly spell Solskjaer, Gudjohnsen, Iversen and Hasselbaink so it could have been 83. But on the other hand I didn't so much remember Rob Lee, Carlton Cole and Joe Cole as much as enter Cole on the basis of Andy and Lee on the offchance there was probably someone with that surname.
Sheringham and Beckham were my two most embarrassing omissions whilst I'm most pissed off about forgetting Paulo Wanchope given he's one of my favourite footballers ever.
that made me LOL.
I got 89.
Owen....OWEN - how did i miss him?
also, 200 - the bottom ones had like 25 goals
all time premier league clubs
with 3 minutes 46 seconds spare. Newcastle took the longest for me to remember!
Oldham, Crystal Palace and Wolves being the fuck-ups.
Crystal Palace being an absolute fuck-up obviously...
Missed 2 of the current lot. Stoopid.
get some more please.
accounted for by Wigan!
best sporcle quiz ever. And there's some crackers in the Geography section.
Can't believe some of the ones I missed - Cantona, Bergkamp, Adebayor, Ljungberg, Cahill...
That said, if you look at the 'most guessed right' page, there's loads down the bottom I'm not sure I've ever heard of. Who the fuck are Bryan Roy and Lee Chapman?
and got about 95 or so. I'm gonna do it again and see if I do any better.
missed some proper stupid ones too!
some of the ones that I missed are a little embarrasing.
Balanced missing out fucking Henry by getting Chris Armstrong!
