The draw:
AC Milan v MAN UTD
Porto v ARSENAL
Lyon v Real Madrid
CSKA Moscow v Sevilla
Bayern Munich v Fiorentina
Inter Milan v CHELSEA
Olympiakos v Bordeaux
Stuttgart v Barcelona
Oh hurrah.
85million Mourinho articles on their way. Wicked.
plus 15 on Beckham's return to OT.
pah.
Surely they'll all get lost in the Beckham United ones?
I'm not buying a newspaper until March.
What are the odds on Bordeaux to win the whole thing?
Between 25-1 and 33-1
This
AC Milan v MAN UTD
Porto v ARSENAL
Lyon v Real Madrid
CSKA Moscow v Sevilla
Bayern Munich v Fiorentina
Inter Milan v CHELSEA
Olympiakos v Bordeaux
Stuttgart v Barcelona
us vs milan
was inevitable, really. same with inter vs chelsea.
Can you pick my lottery numbers this week?
cheers
so excited about the second leg of chelsea vs inter
going to be a great game, that one. jose will have to look for a new job after we beat them.
Manchester City enquire about the availability of Guus Hiddink
BBC Sport UNDERSTANDS.
Seems set to sign a new deal with Russia tho.
What is it with him and Russia?
Do they have pictures on him or something?
Nah, no pictures.
Just his wife and children.
Chelsea will beat Inter
who have been atrocious in the European Cup over the last decade. Their record in recent years makes ours look good.
Porto will be tough, but hopefully we'll actually have some players back by late February.
Or even more injuries...
Lucky I checked... was just about to post one of these...
Here it is:
Watford look to be further in the shit as Jimmy Russo rejects a request for his loan repayment to be deferred for a month. Temporary chairman Graham Taylor calls it "annoying".
Dundee want half a million from the SFA in exchange for manager Craig Levine.
Speculation rises around Mark "safest job in the Premier League" Hughes' job as it becomes clear that City have set up meetings with Gus Hiddink. Hiddink's agent says he may still stay with Russia on a new contract.
UEFA Europa Cup League - Everton lose 1-0, Celtic come back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 and salvage a point. Everton still go through in second place, but Celtic finish third in their 'league'. Draw to follow soon - all three English sides are unseeded.
Champions League draw:
Inter Milan v CHELSEA
Lyon v Real Madrid
AC Milan v MANCHESTER UNITED
Olympiakos v Bordeaux
FC Porto v ARSENAL
CSKA Moscow v Sevilla
Stuttgart v Barcelona
Bayern Munich v Fiorentina
No idea what's happening this weekend. I'm expecting Hendon v Bognor to be off given the blanket of white stuff outside.
^ this is how you start a football thread.
That couldn't have been much worse for the English contingent considering they all won their groups
we should beat Inter, in fact I think all 3 English clubs will go through, it's just not as easy as it could've been.
Stuttgart aside our draw couldn't have been better
Porto are still a good side, especially at home, but I'm perfectly happy with that.
Don't think United will be too worried about AC either and it might be tight, but I'd be stunned if Inter beat Chelsea.
There are many tough alternatives
the English sides would probably beat every one of the teams that finished second, so I was pointing out that it's tough in relative terms. It still doesn't look too bad but that's only because there isn't the quality in the draw to trouble the English sides.
I'd rather have Bayern Munich, Stuttgart or CSKA than Porto. The only it could've been harder overall is if Arsenal got Lyon. These teams are pretty hard to choose between though, they're all tricky but not great by CL standards.
*there aren't
Europa League draw:
Club Brugge/Valencia v FC Twente/Werder Bremen
Ajax/Juventus v Fulham/Shakhtar
Lille/Fenerbahce v Liverpool/Unirea
Panathinaikos/Roma v Standard Liege/Salzburg
Hertha Berlin/Benfica v Copenhagen/Marseille
A Madrid/Galatasaray v Everton/Sporting
Rubin/Hapoel v Villarreal/Wolfsburg
Hamburg/PSV v Athletic Bilbao/Anderlecht
Ajax v Juventus is a replay of the 1996 CL final
How the mighty have fallen.
That couldn't really be any worse for Fulham
Shame.
And Everton's draw isn't much better.
by my reckoning
the quarters will have 3 Spanish teams, 3 English, 1 French and probably 1 German
I hate football
looking forward to AC - Inter in the quarter-finals
that'll be LOADED
the two greatest sides in the history of the world
(apart from leeds and dynamo kyiv) meet in the world's greatest competition.
dont see why anyone would really care about the champions league now the most dramatic team have left.
you honestly don't see why anyone would care?
really?
jesus...
nah
