Watched this for the first time...the ending!

All the manic action at the end reminded me of Vicky Christina Barcelona. Was VCB just an updated version of Jules et Jim, except without the war background?

Anyway, I can't help thinking Catherine was actually quite a tragic character, despite being more selfish and irresponsible than average - hard to compare her with any of the other women in the film as they are all lame ('meet --, she's stupid').

Loved the camera work, can imagine how exciting it would have been at the time.
