Do Marvel specialise in producing the same story over and over in their comics or is this just Hollywood?
Spider-Man: Scientist friend of Peter goes mad while creating something that makes him essentially superhuman and Peter must stop him.
Spider-Man 2: Scientist friend of Peter goes mad while creating something that makes him essentially superhuman and Peter must stop him.
Iron Man: Bad guy gets a copy of Stark's famous power source and uses it to beat the shit out of him.

All superhero films are the same. BUT THIS ONE HAS GOT BOB & SAM IN IT!
I'm sure it'll be fun enough I just feel like they could have put a little bit of variety in there.
Didn't you hear vamos? It's got Bob AND SAM in it.
Do you see how good this is going to be?
But having now seen about 3,417 superhero films I think there is essentially only about 1 plot that works.
Accident causing abilities or life changing moment
Someone finds out secret identity
Battle to protect it
Sequel: Revenge. Or 4 bad guys under-utilised at once.
Terribly dull formula, but like pi it's stood the test of time. I guess that's why Dark Knight went down so well; it vaguely toyed with the formula...?
but I feel like you've still got a lot of leeway from there.
I just felt like Spider-Man 2 was more like a remake of the first film than a sequel in a way that (say) Superman 2 doesn't, despite still having Lex in.
Watching that trailer I just felt like having Rourke with the same power source was lazy. Surely Iron Man must have other villains who put him in peril without needing to fight him on his own terms?
also am starting to quite fancy Robert Downey Jr.
gave me a man-crush
Oh my god, you haven't got a 'thing' about him too, have you?
No, I don't have a thing about him despite him being in one of the best films EVER.
I of course mean Swingers.
Which pretty much makes him a saint in my house.
And that it's black.
