tips on getting rid, anyone? they're nibbling away at every piece of clothing i own.
"animals would laugh you out of the ark"
You need DOOM though.
they're in my wardrobe :'(
What I did:
1) Take all wool/silk clothes to dry cleaners as this is the only way to get rid of larvae.
2) Clean out your wardrobe, then wipe down with lavender oil
3) If you're still worried buy some plastic clothes bags to cover your stuff
If you can get bobbygeorge's wet penis into your house it should quickly sort it out.
I'm going to post in brusma's thread now.
Train them to eat moths.
namely on you're clothes.
Even in moth hiding spots put ones saying 'the is no where to hide' they'll leave soon enough when shit starts getting real.
or sit in wait for them and kill them individually. They don't fly very fast so they shouldn't require much chasing.
and then burn all the moths. Unfortunately you would be left without clothes. This is where the bin bag suggestion might come in handy.
It's the only way to be sure
a) Take all clothes out of wardrobe
b) clean inside wardrobe thoroughly, look out for egg sacks
c) take this opportunity to throw out any old clothes you don't use any more. This isn't strictly necessary but it feels good
d) Wash at high temperature any clothes that can be washed at high temperature
e) Everything else needs to be FROZEN. Stick them in plastic bags and shove them in a freezer for 24 hours. (Tricky if you don't have a big freezer - we borrowed space in someone elses)
f) hoover and dust EVERYTHING in your house thoroughly, especially carpets and fabric-covered furniture
g) kill any moth on sight (harder than you think, I swear the little buggers have an inbuilt Klingon-style cloaking device). This is important. Hunt the buggers down before they breed
h) fill wardrobe with sachets of lavender, cloves, dried oranges etc before putting clothes back in. You'll stink like a granny for a while, but at least you won't have moths
i) continue to kill moths on sight until you don't see them any more. It could take weeks.
