today i was working as a christmas angel in a shopping centre. i had to give out balloons and chocolates to kids, and give out spot prizes to adults. an older lady (who i think had a disability similar to down's) and her carer came over to talk to me and i gave the lady a prize. she went away to collect it. a while later she came back, and her carer told me how over the moon she was with her wee make up bag, and that i had really made her day, she was beaming.

i don't want to sound patronising or anything, but i really almost wanted to cry. such small things really can mean a lot to people.
