watch the film, Theo, it does the book justice
I just didn't expect him to be played so camply. It seems weird.
I love Bale in this
It sounds awful.
but it's probably one of its duller moments. The music doesn't help. For a film filled with good fun tracks you sure picked a stinker.
It actaully carbonises that day it was filmed. That particular day in the mid-eighties. It lives in this montage. As does the city around it. The elevator instrumental takes me there like some wormhole, it works well with the montage and is such an unusual choice of music - but has this innocence to it, of something lost, and still captures the grand, stiff, etherealness of that gallery.
For some reason i have recently become attached to it as a scene.
I dont have an objective viewpoint on it.
