have you got an SLR camera? if you have, and you're not a pro photographer, you're wasting your time.
One for work, one old film slr that I used for Uni work and hasn't been used since.
nothing wrong with having an active interest/hobby and wanting to get some nice kit to do so.
at being near blinded by some guy with a massive phallic ubercamera at gigs who takes a million near identical photo just to stick them up on Flickr.
Love you fishplums!
can he still ban me?
Not sure he even owns a flash or any kind of zoom lens. He's always very concerned about getting in people's way.
TBF: ‘Shplums is alright, I’ve not noticed him do this. I’m mainly thinking about one local guy with a camera as big as my arm and some thermo-nuclear flash who just gets in everyone’s way and climbs all over the stage. I don’t know why bands put up with it.
actually, no. you don't have to be a professional photographer to enjoy taking pictures with a proffessional camera you know how to use.
Plus, most SLRs aren't professional cameras anyway, they're for amateur enthusiasts.
can i have my artistic merit now please
it doesn't mean that you're as good as Wayne Rooney.
What are you on about?
who has installed an entire £1600 photography studio in her flat. is this allowed?
she's never used it.
that's like saying "trying be be creative and have just started out? Don't bother loser!"
Everyone sucks at the beginning. Just as long as you realise where you wanna get and keep on trying.
Hey man, let's all have a group hug.
I have standards, I'll have you know.
BUT i do think there is a lot of crap photography out there, but digital cameras combined with publicising your every single fucking activity is a relatively new phenomenon that I'm sure will be easy to get used to - i.e. just ignore the shit photos.
That said, you're wrong about who should own a DSLR. We bought one the other day and I can tell you it takes far better photos than any decent compact I've used.
So if you like having nice photos and don't mind carrying one of those around it's a good idea. Even on the manual setting with the built in flash I've yet to take a photo with red eye (or 'green eye' on the cats) and the lack of smudge/grain on the JPGs is quite astounding.
You don't need to be pro to own one but, yeah, know your limits and all that.
You mean you don't shoot in RAW? Stick to yer Box Brownie mate.
1) We're only learning how to use the camera so most shots are simple practice.
2) We only have a 4GB memory card and shooting RAW + JPG would limit the number of shots massively.
3) Rather than using an easily accessed uncompressed formate like BMP or TIFF, Canon have elected to use their own format and have thus condemned themselves to one of the circles of hell reserved for utter cunts. They will be joined in this circle by:
Sony, for the MemoryStick format
Apple, for various iTunes only bollocks formats
Microsoft, for continued crimes.
but the image of you using your SLR on your cats is giving me pause
"Shut the hell up!"
so you don't see it's fat arse? Or do you not not how to work an SLR camera?
and this is another of those times.
I'm the exception that proves the rule though.
THE EAST END OF LONDON!
BROKEN OLD SIGNS AND SHOP GRATINGS!
I AMMMM PHOTGRAFOR!
no to the second statement.
but you should be able to work it out. Somewhere if you right click on an image is a the URL for a direct link to it.
GOOD ONE, CLIVE!
I like this one from the same able. APPROPRIATE.
Yeah. Disposable cameras FTW.
