Actually really funny and good, like in Blackadder, not just alright.
NB Wilde wasn't really good.
*end of thread*
rather than compared to you.
He talks like he's had a cold since 1997? Or has this always been the case?
John Peel told me some nasty things about Rory...
apparently he's a massive perv.
Really not a surprise.
Shame Davies makes me want to scratch my eyes out, or i'd watch it more.
Jeeves and Wooster, the re-runs.
What does he need to do something good for? He's Steven Fry.
where he visited New Orleans. Should have made a longer documentary out of it really.
Otherwise, I'm not sure?
Absolute Power on beeb2, that was cracking, shame they canned it.
He's in that US programme now, with the guy who used to be in that other US program.
I love Bones though. David Boreanaz <3 <3 <3
DAVID BOREANAZ NEEDS TO BE INVICIBLE AND SHOULD NOT BE SEEN IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
Y'know, jus' sayin'.
Absolute Power was rubbish.
Gosford Park is alright, but he's has about two lines in it.
It's not a great film but it's eminently rubbish like Daredevil or the Matrix sequels.
I saw in the cinema and enjoyed it. Watched it on DVD hated it.
I liked GP and AP and V for Vendetta. There's no accounting for taste is there.
because that was properly hilarious
Maybe Royter is the same with books and telly like he is with music. NOTHING AFTER 1996, NOTHANKYOU.
Moany moany moany.
What a tit!
True story. It's about 18 times better than This Is shitting Hardcore, that's for sure.
This year I've realised that I hate Jarvis Cocker and Weezer. And they said I hadn't achieved anything! HA!
This Is Hardcore is a great album. Pulp's best by far.
In It For The Money <<< I Should Coco
OK Computer < The Bends
This Is Hardcore <<<<<<< His 'n' Hers
Moab is my Washpot
The Stars Tennis Balls
Have i done anything good since 2003? I don't know. It's all very subjective.
Faint praise indeed
Stephen Fry = Enemy Of The People.
It's like the old footy one:
"Ooh he [Torres or someone] should have scored that!"
"I'd like to see you do better!!!!!1"
it was an innocent question fueled by genuine curiosity
stop trying to derail my thread
than a derailment to be honest, Theo.
I highly recommend it. If you google it there's a link that lets you download the whole series for free.
That post makes it sounds like I highly recommend NOT listening to it. Which I don't.
In conclusion: WHAT
Just download it, you scummers.
Do you mean that it's too scripted (which would be daft) or that the script isn't any good (which would be daft)?
Maybe it is tame these days, but it's about 20 years old.
Blackadder, Baldrick, Melchett and Percy are underdeveloped? Fair dos, you don't like it, but I'm not sure you understand what underdeveloped means.
Also, cocks/fart jokes are, and always will be, funny.
That's what scripted comedy is.
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th Blackadder series are amazing. You have the one intelligent man dragged down by utter idiots at every turn but he still gets the chance to deliver Wildean put downs and deliver us the comedy. It's really a reflection on how we all feel in life. I'm really surprised you don't like it, Bamnan, given this seems to quite often mirror how you view the world.
You've never actually watched it have you? Or maybe you only ever saw the first series with BRIAN BLESSED in.
that civilised man seeks out good and intelligent company, so that, through learned discourse, he may rise above the savage and closer to God.
Personally, however, I like to start the day arguing on a forum with a total dickhead to remind me I'm best.
It's pretty funny, actually.
especially for you theo
if you three bellends fuck off out of my thread
so fuck you. :D
there are a few too many 'knob gags' in II but '...the third' and '...goes forth' are highly sophisticated in their fusing of historical references and super-sharp wit
I particularly love the episodes in '...the third' where Robbie Coltrane plays Samuel Johnson and Stephen Fry plays The Duke of Wellington - absolute comedy gold
Blackadders 2/3/4 are fucking brilliant and have some of the best scripted comedy i can think of.
In the meantime i offer my most enthusiastic contrafibularities.
not a funny Stephen Fry.
who enjoyed bright young things?
until there's another completely unnecessary series of A Bit Of Fry And Laurie. Hugh Laurie NEEDS a cricket bat in the face just for Stuart Little and Maybe Baby. Maybe stephen fry should just have a House cameo, that would keep me happy.
His spot on Graham Norton w/ Bill Bailey last night was pretty funny.
HENCE THE THREAD.
I saw 'Cell Mates' in 1995 - Fry was great, Mayall was rubbish. Couldn't fathom why Fry went all postal as a result.
Slightly negates it by going all boo-hoo just because Rik Mayall is a bit of a prick. Still:
Rik Mayall's comedy output > Stephen Fry's comedy output
I dunno, I was just surprised when Fry lost it during the west-end run of Cell Mates because from where I was sat (the Royal box at Richmond Theatre incidentally) Fry was carrying Mayall all the way. Was the first night though so who knows...
but the goss was that Mayall is a prize bellend and drove Fry up the wall.
Rik Mayall > Stephen Fry. That's not too controversial, I'd say.
