People who run up and down stairs
why? when they trip and creel themselves it's the funniest thing in the world. it'd make sense if they were in a hurry, but you'll see people who are walking calmly along and then as soon as they come to some stairs all of a sudden they have to start running up them like a gimp. the fuck is that about

what about when people go into sort of speed-crawl
to get up the stairs
acceptable
I do this
good exercise innit, I don't have the most active job in the world so i love running on stairs
i was thinking that maybe exercise is the reason
still, it's having fuck all effect is it? unless you're climbing stairs all day long
I just found out this
if yoou climb up 10 sets of stairs (which will take an average of 5 minutes), you will burn 50 calories. That's more or less the equivalent of one slice of bread for a 5-minute workout. Pretty impressive!
And this
I might start walking up and down my stairs for 10 minutes a day
And this*
Have stairs at your home or office? They offer a perfect no-gym workout! Taking the stairs can improve cardiovascular health and lower cholesterol in just seven weeks. While a few minutes of climbing here and there may not seem like a lot of work, it adds up! You'll burn 12.5 calories every 60 seconds you spend climbing — or 750 calories per hour! Now, that's an incentive to skip the elevator!
I have to go up and down 6 flights of stairs
at least once a day...I've now taken to running it too.
^5
I do it on the grounds that
it's good exercise
it makes it go faster so I'm not cursing the 6 flights all the time :)
Yeap i need to go up 4 flights 3 times a day
Its much quicker to run, i dont run up them all as thats a bit tough
I'm a paranoid stair-runner
always hold the bannister at the same time. Live on the third floor of a flat with concrete stairs, very sore to fall on.
I always do this, two at a time
even when carrying coffee. I'm just asking for trouble, I know.
The odd trip is worth all the time you save though, if you add up time saved from every stair climb/descent I'm probably freeing up months' worth of spare time.
yeah but why stop there, man
why not run everywhere if that's the case. the time-saving argument is a non-starter for me
I'm not fit enough
and I'd get a bit sweaty, not a good look in an office job.
Plus, it wasn't really an argument. It's not like it's a major part of my life.
well this is serious business man
it seems easier to run up stairs
than run on flat ground, or is this just me?
You look like an idiot when your not running on anything which isnt a stair
unless your an athlete or being chased by Godzilla
you look like an idiot when you're running on stairs as well
sorry, but it has to be said
Nah its pretty much standard
Or missing the bus
and then pretending you didn't really want to catch the bus.

I'm a stair runner
and I also fall over a hell of a lot too, good combo.
If I run upstairs at home then towards to the last few I kind of lean so far forward that I do a crawl, I haven't seen any ever do this but I see someone else mentioned so now I feel kind of normal for my stair habits.

My Preference
Is the double stair take. If you think about it walking up and down stairs is ridiculous, its the equivalent of taking tiny steps when walking on a level floor, which is stupid. double step should be encouraged instead of ridiculed
I don't think I can take two at a time
Uh-huh, should rephrase, probs.
too late
