i remember playing it and thinking "wow i want one of these for my birthday/christmas!"
we weren't allowed anything but books or rationed tv when i was little so i could only play when i was at my aunt's house.

the first game I remember playing was Spy Vs Spy in an arcade in Hong Kong. I had no idea what was going on
An ancient U.S. playground game. Kid holds a ball. Other kids beat and abuse him until he gives up the ball. Kids wait to see who has the balls to pick up the ball and run like hell, to avoid being beaten and have it taken away from them so the next person can get beat up. I don't think kids are allowed play this anymore, schools have gotten a lot softer, but when I was little it was no big deal.

and paper scissor stones is the WORST way of settling boss fights ever
sure they picked the same choices every time, but all the play to get up to the next inevitable defeat once you've learnt one was enough to drive a pre-teen soapy mad

it was pretty amazing at the time. I was only allowed to play it for 1 hour a week though. This was on an amstrad 464
first one i can remember was Ghostbusters on the C64

i *think* the game came on some sheets of paper and you had to type up the code to make it work.
on an Oric 1, it took 2hrs to load and had 4 levels. I thought it was great at the time.
Probably either ghostbusters or wonder boy 3.
