I smoke liquorish roll ups and the occasional lucky strike. I've cut down a lot recently though, might give up.
Aside from it being cheaper, why do people - especially hippy types (though that's not to say you're a hippy type) - smoke roll-ups?
I get the impression that a lot of them think that it's striking a blow against The Man.
I thought that roll-ups were worse it terms of filtering out nasty stuff, even with filters in them.
I dunno. I hate the things.
fat straights smell so (much more) bad and are fat and horrible. also theres something slightly more rewarding about rolling your own i find..
you're right, it's cheaper, plus I prefer the taste, and baccy's good to have around for rolling joints etc. Plus you ca get licorice papers :)
thing is though, i mostly smoke when i drink, and when i'm drunk i'm not gonna be fumbling around with rolling papers and filters and whatnot.
it's much cheaper than smoking Cigs, i smoke less of it, and it's nicer.
as in smoking them. they are just wrong diddly wrong. like eating an extra strong mint and tugging on a woodbine at the same time - why would you want that!?
I've just moved from Golden Virginia to Benson & Hedges rolling tobacco. When I buy pre-rolled cigarettes I vary between Marlboro Lights, Royals, and Mayfair - but occasionally I'll just pick a brand at random.
And as for the "why rollups" question, I smoke them because they're cheap, quick, and (when filtered) more pleasent to smoke than straights.
Sometimes I smoke cigars.
I bought a pack the other day that flipped out to reveal a secret compartment of ten extra cigarettes.
or Marlboro Lights because they're the only ones I know.
and i smoke roll ups because it's cheaper and i don't like the taste or smell of cigarettes
in the past i have regularly smoked:
Lambert & Butler
Regal King size
Marlboro Reds (lungs couldnt take much of that abuse)
Berkley Superkings (proper old woman fags)
Baccy: Drum, Samson, Golden Virginia
nothing else is considered.
fullerov is a man of wealth and taste.
I buy them from a tobacconist.
there is a shop near the laines that sells them in B-town.
rolling tobacco from america, it was the first time id tried it and man it is soooo dry! i take it supposed to be like that? it just reminded me of what would happen if you emptied out about 100 straght cigareetes and put them in a nice metal tin. just way too harsh im afriad. i had to put some celery in there to moisten it up a bit..
never had the rolling tobacco.
it's all aditive free, so maybe it is supposed to be like that.
or Lucky Strike silver / Camel blue if i'm splashing the cash
Luckys or Marlborough Lights when I'm out.
i used to smoke blue drum but after i gave up (for about two weeks) i found it difficult to get back in to..
but preferably red gaulloises
but i usually can't spell it correctly
I prefer Lucky Strikes, but they're not that common these days.
I started out rolling my cigarettes, but frankly I find the process of rolling incredibly tedious and annoying (especially on cold or windy days), and don't mind paying a bit extra for the convenience. The only people I know who smoke rollies unquestionably are my hippie friends - this is, I believe, due to a combination of it somehow feeling a bit like sticking it to 'The Man' (partly to do with the conformity that pre-rolled cigarettes can entail, or something equally tenuous), but also down to cost. They're hippies, they won't have much money as a rule.
Nothing else. Ever.
switched from GV a few months back as I was getting fed up of the sheer amount of horrible twigs in it.
Blue rizlas. Got to be blue rizlas. Green rizlas are the devil's work.
when on rollies, it's drum blue
I'm shit at rolling
Don't you remember sitting outside the pub for the first time smoking away? And me robbing many-a cig from you? I smoked like a fiend when I was on the continent.
Wouldn't want an important thing like that going forgotten now, would we?
