trapped in a conscious coma! holy fokking fokk!
the way i remember it, I was the life and soul of the party. Dancing on tables, leading a conga line and strutting my stuff on the dancefloor
Didn't get it.
I would imagine that they run more imaging tests routinely now than when this guy was first assigned his Glasgow scale rating... he was probably 'lucky' (if that's the right word) that people are doing a lot of work on such techniques now and are often looking for coma victims etc to find people who are conscious but in a vegetative state. I'd wanted to look into real-time functional magnetic resonance imaging, which requires huge expensive fancy machines BUT not injections of radioactive isotopes (as PET does). You might have seen that stupid 'force' game that's being sold just now where you put on a headset and move a ball up and down in a tube, that's done using EEG, which can be turned into images and analysed in a similar way but is much less region-specific than the other techniques.
I am dropping knowledge on yo asses etc.
This happened to me for a couple of decades once. Before you ask, yes, I did go insane. But that got tedious after a while and I ended up going sane. Really sane...
the idea of it is really disturbing and utterly terrifying
I hope they didn't operate on him or anything
Reminds me of the diving bell and the butterfly, which is a fucking great film.
then told my parents to turn off any machine straight away
Im not going to sleep
