Opening the floor to wild accusations of the firm in question.
Wohoo, I accuse goody flanders.
but I did receive multiple calls from companies external to 02 when my contract was due to expire, and I'm no longer an O2 customer.
I'd guess from the guy they're quoting running around braggin how he's gonna send 'em all to jail or whatever suggests to me it might be a little on the illegal idea of things. But he could just be an idiot.
unless you've consented to your data being sent on by a company. Usually with a mobile company, you won't have done so and they (and any indirect seller like CPW or P4U) will be the only people who'll know when your contract is due to end.
The mobile phone database is/was something quite different - it was generated from marketing info bought from the usual mailing lists that people have consented to be listed on. (See www.118800.co.uk)
you had to go online and fill in your mobile number to be excluded.
WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
"But after 02, Vodafone, Orange, 3 and Virgin said they were not the subject of the investigation, T-Mobile confirmed it had been."
where can I sell this information that people want?
