a friend of mine got married last month and hired a marquee in the gardens of a local hotel for the reception. I reckon there must have been around 70 guests. when she was billed, she noticed that there was a £200 charge for door supervision (security / bouncers).
When she challenged the hotel about this, they said that this "was the law" and that they legally had to employ bouncers / security for an event.
Is this true?
