We still laugh at my cousin, who once had this...
and the Mighty ....Amokachi, can't remember the number for that though.
I always thought that when people were going out with each other and they had
or something it was pretty sweet. Not in an awww way but in a WOAH THAT'S SO CLEVER way.
and everyone laughed at me because by then he was wearing number 7
I was the laughing stock of the playground.
i got a Park 13 shirt bought three years ago as a lol, wear it to the gym and whatnot.
a Tony Coton Man City shirt (I was a keeper as a kid).
I had Rosler too......that aside I don't think I usually had names on the back. No idea why.
Sparky every single time. Childhood hero innit.
but it said 'Jimmy'
After the one and the only, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Such a sick guy for Leeds.
I was never glamorous. Having the left-back's name on my shirt only confirms this...
I vaguely remember a Etherington - 11 shirt as well...
Given 1 and Seaman 1 (England goalkeeper kit), but I also had Pep Guardiola (Barcelona), Shearer 9 (I Newcastle supporter when younger), Dining 16 (Wigan shirt), Sherwood 8 (Birthday present, and Blackburn), Batty 8 (England shirt) and probably millions more that I can't remember. Now I have a Brazil shirt with Megson 10 and in the process of saving up for a Real Madrid shirt with (Dean) Windass on the back.
MASSIVE pictures of the clubs badge on the backs of shirts?
Newcastle have with their new kit
now. Gotta claw back that revenue somehow...
and he's certainly no vennegoor van hesselink
Not much for hero worship.
It's still the only name you're legally allowed on the back of any Newcastle shirt.
Kewell 7 lol
After Kewell, I realised that it was a bad idea.
brings back sobbing memories of not having enough money to get DICKS 3 on the back on my west ham shirt when i was about 6. :(
1 - DE GOEY
11 - ABREU
7 - FRAN
6 - GUERRERO
5 - HIERRO
I think I had a dennis wise shirt when I was about 5 too. :(
I'm sure of it.
on my inter milan shirt
i genuinely had Gary Pallister's name on my shirt.
I'm not sure why. I think it was because he liked eating mars bars and peanuts.
Or did you like him because he refused to eat Snickers, instead eating a Mars at the same time as a bag of peanuts?
that his favourite snack was breaking a mars bar up and putting it into a king size bag of peanuts.
As a slightly rotund child with a passion for consumption, it was positively life affirming to realise that you could be a professional sportsman and still eat shite.
I didn't know that about Pallister. Nice bit of trivia, that. Cheers.
Forster on my Reading one
Sharpe on my Man Utd one
Cudicini on my Chelsea GK one
I also had someone on my Lens shirt, but I can't remember who
I had a Martin Butler one as well, those were the glory years :)
I don't remember any names on the back of my football shirts. There definitely isn't one on the back of my Roma top.
I had a spurs ginola one
Even though I have never been a Tottenham fan. At least, I dont think I have ever been.
i'd wear nothing else
FERDINAND 9 - Newcastle away shirt, the red and blue stripy one.
Also, RONALDO 9 - Barcelona home shirt made by Kappa, a proper nipple shredder, itchy as fuck
Best of all - SCHILLACI 9, blue Italy shirt, world cup 1990
Steve Nicol's number at the time. On Liverpool's grey away shirt. I cut out the material and sewed it on myself, if I remember rightly. Times were 'ard, etc. This was just at the very beginning of when people started getting stuff printed on the back of shirts, so my home made effort didn't look too bad and I managed to avoid getting a ribbing for it.
^Before I realised that supporting a team just because my neighbour did they were succesful wasn't really on and I started following the team from the town I was born in.
on the back of my oxford shirt. johnny johnny johnny byrne!
But then again he used to do stuff like this:
I think I was unique.
barcelona: rivaldo 10
france: henry 14
in fact, i might wear one to the next dis football.
always. But once and once only, I deviated and got INCE 8 (on the blue and white striped shirt). He left two weeks later. Serves me right.
