I've never done this but it sounds hilarious
I once lost my passport
I didn't even notice I'd lost it. I took it out as proof of my age. I was 22 at the time, but I'm quite baby faced so I needed it.
Anyhow. To my surprise I got a message on facebook from a randomer saying "I have your passport"........it was very sinister.
I said "Oh - thanks! can I have it back?"
The person said "Yeah sure. Meet you outside piccadily records?"
I was shitting myself.
I met the person. He was perfectly fine. I just think he wanted me to think he was a psychopath.
It did reaffirm some of my faith in society. It was a very nice gesture.
I don't think this will be happening for me.
Its already been a week.
