Fireworks should be banned in residential areas
Seriously, how can they allow people to set fireworks off in their tiny back gardens? There are a load of gardens around here and my next door neighbour just set off a small rocket which got take by the wind a bit and could have quite easilly hit the flats just above us, because we're at the bottom of the hill facing upwards towards flats...it's ludicrous
plus i just got a bowl of vanilla ice cream and coated it in nutella, co co pops and bread crums!

i don't see why they should be on public sale
<dailymail>
it's not like people really really need their own fireworks. it's just asking for kids/dickheads to get hold of them and hurt people.

Plus they're loud and disturb my TV watching
and and and and
they scare my dog

BUT THEY LOOK SO AWESOME.
untill they blind you
surely its also a bit dumb
when you can probably go and see a much better public display much more cheaply?
I have so many bad memories of pathetic back garden fireworks
take the fun out of it why don't you chris.
also, you live near flats? for some reason i thought you would have lived on some sort of country estate.

well i live on one of those new housing developments
Y'know the types with the 3 storey mega house? yeah....and the flats are a kind of welcome banner to the road. I live near the bottom, where it's better of course.
of course :D
the number of teenagers i've seen throwing fireworks at passers by this year
has convinced me that SOMETHING MUST BE DONE
I don't have a problem with people setting them off in their back gardens
It's stuff like this that makes me question whether they ought to be on sale to the general public:

in southall on diwali
people were setting them off in the middle of the road. place was like a war zone with all the smoke.
a highly enjoyable experience.
i was walking home on thursday night and someone
was setting off fireworks in their back garden. bits of them were landing on the street and i had to comically dodge them.
Don't be a pussy
most of all
fireworks are terrible on an individual basis. you need maybe 10 going off at once for it to work, and continuously. so hundreds. buying a few just because it's that time of year is stupid.
my Mum aged 79 had rockets fired straight at her car tonight
in Wilmslow ffs.
My dog was so scared he climbed in the cat basket.
Simon the cat was so scared he ran off with my specs (actually that was to get me to feed him).

ahahahaha
how did he not kill himself
I'm scared of loud bangs...
Fireworks, Cannons etc. So this time of year I mainly spend indoors or with huge headphones on whilst in the street.
