I think you'd have to come up with a good reason not to.
However, most people's IPs at a given time aren't very good at tracking them specifically.
I mean that famous person can presumably claim their address being public domain is a hassle to their everyday life.
My friend's crazed ex-boyfriend keeps posting IP addresses and locations of people who visit his site, which include me, my parents, my friends...he's also threatened to post our full names and addresses. As well as being quite slanderous I think he may be crossing some legal boundaries. I don't know, but if he is I'm going to condemn the fucker...
it is illegal for companies and people to give such data without ones permission under the data protection action without one giving consent to do so
But as I understand it you're right. You can't publicly post info that can be personally identified unless the individual's agreed to this beforehand OR it's in the public interest.
he asked my friend/his ex to come to Margate beach with him. She declined. What does he do? He takes her hat with him, takes pictures of him and the hat doing fun seaside-y things together and sends them to her. Odd, right?
"DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON?!"
I'm glad I found this thread! :D
