Thoughts about tomorrow plz? I'm WELL excited.
5 o'clock band practice :(
hopefully it'll be on the Iplayer
but wont going down the pub to watch the Wales game. Also missed out on getting tickets for the Samoa and Australia games. Wales seem to always lose when I wear my shirt, so its staying in wardrobe this time round.
this is a disaster
oh well and off to the Samoa game next Friday (£15 a ticket, bargain)
I'll post thoughts below
I honestly think England are going to get humped by the Aussies - who I think we lose to Ireland and Wales. This is the weakest England tight 5 I've ever seen, giving Aus parity up front, and the Aus back row with Elsom returning having pretty much won Leinster the Heineken Cup on his own, and going to obliterate England at the break down.
Wilkinson looks in great form, but he's not going to get enough ball to do anything. I hope that traitor Geraghty gets steam rollered.
If England get ball, Monye and Banahan can do damage, but I think Aus are going to have too much for England. They'll put speed on the ball and shift England all round the pitch.
England have to start giving youth a chance. They can't keep relying on ancient journey men to fluke them to the World Cup final.
NZ aren't the force they were, but they're still the All Blacks you know. They play hard, they play fast and they are exceptional cheats.
Wales have the nucleus of a great team, but they're so emotional. If they were playing NZ at the end of the 6N they'd have a great chance, because they're so dependent on momentum. As is, they'll hype themselves off the planet, play well for half an hour and then concede a try and heads will drop.
It's great to see Ryan Jones returned to his rightful place at 8, but as much as I love him Andy Powell has the potential to be an absolute catastrophe at 6.
Wales will massively miss Adam Jones and Mike Phillips. Although it's great to see Cooper getting a chance.
All Blacks by 15
cause by what you said there it sounds like it will be pretty much the same?
Wales need to dominate the tight 5 and the back row need to get quick ball to S Jones. There's the problem because Powell doesn't really have the 6 skill set - he's not an on the deck scrapper like your 6 needs to be and if Martyn Williams doesn't get some support at the breakdown, the All Blacks will toss him around like a rag doll
