They still say Batman in Germany; Fledermausmann doesn't have the same ring.

I think mostly things keep their name in the original language, well if it's an English name, but I really don't have the first clue. I am basing my answer on the fledermaus and my copy of StruwwelPeter.
The analogue of Batman in The Tick is called Die Fledermaus. I always found that hilarious on the basis that everything is better in German.
As for Winnie The Pooh - his name is Pooh, not poo. Pooh doesn't mean shit, it means... I dunno, Pooh.
I love it though, he was right the dude that wrote it, kids do like to be scared. Johnny Suck A Thumb is brilliant!
