Fancy following these guys and shouting "get your tits out" etc.?
it's about improving awareness and safety for all genders and attacks, which however seem to be more frequent on women and homsexual men. It was originally purely about women's rights to be able to go out and not have to be constantly alertedto their safety and advised to carry an attack alarm but in recent years it's diversified. Thankyou.
"The march is open to self defining women only."
manchester were aiming toopen theirs up to men too, but this kind of thing is hard when you're trying to group "feminism" under one umbrella definition to suit everyone, when it's clearly not the case. There's alot of conflict about how open it is and even the "self-defining women" caused a lot of problems. However there clearly is a problem with it being engrained into culture that women shouldn't go out wearing certain types of clothing, or shouldn't drink too much for fear of what will happen to them later. There's just not that sort of prevelant attitude towards men.
However I guess you're looking for a rise rather than a rational answer, and the former is what I am not planning on giving you. Cheers also.
