Fucking terrible advert. It makes me angry and: IT'S ALL BRUSMA'S FAULT FOR MAKING HIM THINK HE SHOULD DO IT!
but see that "OOP YER VIVA!" advert? i has a spastic fit last night and killed my flatmate in the 10 seconds it was one. then i shat blood in a pentagram and wanked into a burning candle
he's on twitter, isn't he? what's his twitter? i want to start lots of anonymous accounts and abuse him. or maybe i'll start one of those facebook groups that's like "JOSH WARD: FUCK OFF AND DIE"
actually, i've not seen the tv adverts <- blessings of not owning a tv. all i will say is: i hope he falls over and breaks a hip
and then start moaning about it on facebook. We aready know he 'vanity googles'.
i hope it mentally scars him so much that he goes off into a room on his own and sits in bed for 20 years, brian wilson-style. except the difference is that brian wilson actually offered something to culture, whereas as far as i can tell, this guy combines the impressive feat of being not only a cultural pollutant but also a corporate whore.
yeah, heard heard Josh, crap hair.
Whatever bugs there may be in the site, Tom__ sure knows SHIT LOADS about SEO.
Instead I found FOURTEEN videos posted by Josh Ward of his attempts to find a band. JESUS!
I guess clips from Episode 7 must have been used in the advert.
track 4 is Voodoo Chile, which is a self-indulgent 14 minute mess of blues boredom.
Then track 16 is Voodoo Child (Slight Return), the balls to the wall classic rock anthem reprise we all know and love.
I have no idea if this is where the use of 'slight return' to denote a reprise comes from but it's certainly one of the most famous.
One of those ones everyone had at the time in Uni and so I never spent money buying. Other albums in that 'club':
Portishead - Dummy
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie
Pulp - His 'n' Hers
Suede - Suede and Coming Up for that matter
I guess there are probably a fair few others.
Relationship of Command
the Decline of British Sea Power
A Rush of Blood to the Head
oh, and O
To be fair by that time people could probably download things off the net and actually burn you perfect CD copies of other CDs so the ownership angle wasn't such a biggie?
we didn't need to copy CDs
and there was always that dilemma with a C90 and a 50 minute album: do I record the lot and leave one song sitting all lonely on side B, or do I give my friend two "director's cut" albums?
You would have been on the changeover if you mean you were at uni 2000-2003, though? In 2000 I don't remember mp3s really being particularly big. I seem to remember the RIO had just been released and people were sort of using Napster, but maybe it was bigger business at uni where there was actually a FAST internet! :D
60 minute ones too, if I could fit the albums on okay.
the lot of those are on £5 most of the time.
you're crazy man
The Slight Return version is a million times better, though.
But I hope the explanation served...
i was just wondering if the phrase has an origin in some DiS in-joke
Did this Josh guy kick brusma out of his band?
"Sorry, no brusmas."
"But you let in brusma glumplich!"
"It says no brusmas. We're allowed at least one."
What kind of superband is that..
this is horrible.
