so i want a replacement card sent out to me by Capital One. They say "cool" and then say "no, you've just changed your address."
"well, yes, i updated my account."
"uh huh, so we need to have a proof of address to check you live there"
"okay. but you are aleady sending me statements."
"what?"
"i have three statements sent to that address, one of which is in my hand right now. you want me to send this statement back to you to prove i live here when you are already sending personal information to that address?"
"yes"
"you do realise this proves nothing about where i live."
"what?"
"well, i could be anyone changing the address, waiting for the letter to come, and then sending back this letter to you to then gain a card."
"...umm"
