Housemate left their window open overnight and someone climbed in, stole two laptops (ridiculously old and slow - joke's on him), a camera (also old) and a bag full of expensive sheet music. Nothing of mine went, but I was in the house when it happened - sleeping like a baby log, so I didn't hear them despite being in the next room. When I got up I was the front door was slightly open and assumed the housemate had come back to get their clothes for work and hadn't shut the door properly.

When we finally pieced together what had happened we phoned the police, who were really nice, and CSI came round this morning to take fingerprints etc. Nowhere near as exciting as I'd hoped. CSI woman insisted I should've heard the burglar come in, clearly unaware of how deeply I sleep.

It's a real shame, cos we chose this house partly due to the quiet area. Although, I'm still not worried about it happening again.

Anyway, sad times.
