* there's a blind tattooist who spends most of the book drawing a map of the city the book is based in on someones back.
* there's a girl obsessed with a dead author who wrote about worms, and sings a song about him during kareoke.
* there's a man with a hand puppet who tells a story about a city slum's population being wiped out.
