***EMO POST***

finchleydisco [Edit] [Delete] 12:43, 8 October '09

My chum's Facebook status today:

"XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX Went to see the Pixies last night - band's guest list.WOO HOO!!!"

I am so going to get bashed for this but.....

I really hate this kind of thing. Basically this friend of mine gets free tickets off her mate all the time cos she works for a promoter and goes to lots of gigs when she is bored and has nothing else to do. The other week she ended up at Pearl Jam for this very reason and that killed me a bit as I would have loved to have gone to that but it's so £££.

Anyway, the Pixies thing has slain me. For some reason I seem to always miss announcements of upcoming gigs until it's too late and when I do see them in time, they're always a bit too costly.

There is utterly no reason to this post other than having a big sweaty jealous moan.

I just feel aggrieved that my mates get to go and see Pearl Jam, Blur, and now the Pixies (sob sob sob) for a) free and b) when they have barely heard of them and don't own a single one of their albums.

I just feel it's a bit like the "Topshop T-Shirt Factor" - dear 14 year old girl, why are you wearing a glittery Motorhead top when you wouldn't know who Lemmy was if he came up and stuck his boils in your face". There's just....a wrongness.

And "band's guest list"? Since when did my mate go for pints with Frank Black?

THE INJUSTICE OF IT ALL MOAN BOO
