when i was younger i saw this film a few times but can't remember what film it actually was. can you help? it was set in Britain during the WWII, was in colour, basically about a family/kids living in London during the Blitz. There's a scene with young boys running around in the ruins of houses, forcing one kid to swear (or something) while threatening to shoot a nail into his eye.

there's another one i remember but don't know what film it was - the only thing i can remember is seeing a huge creature, similar to 'Thing' from Addams Family, but about 4 times as big, and made of slime/seaweed. it comes out of a lake and goes across grass to a large patio door in a house.

that's it. any ideas?
