what to do, what to do? (Kicking a man while he's down-centric)

belsizeparka [Edit] [Delete] 17:27, 5 October '09

As some of you will know I have a spare room in my house, and I posted in another forum about it. The other forum is a football one, and I know most of the people in it, we meet for drinks before games.

Anyway so I'd posted in there about my spare room, and on Saturday one of the guys asked me was my room still available, he's much older than me and my housemate, and needs a place as his wife has left him and theres kids involved. Now I didn't know this, and it's only now I'm thinking it's a bad idea. I mean he's a nice enough guy, but I hardly know him, only to see at the pub. Anyone got any ideas as to how best break it to him. So far the best I've come up with is that I promised the other housemate we'd get someone in who we both knew, and had similar interests.

Plus I've been in that situation before living with someone older, going through a bit of a crisis, and it's always unpleasant, especially when there's kids coming round, and all that jazz.

I should probably just email him a link to this thread.
